Highland Lake Inn & Resort - Flat Rock

Breakfast and Brunch (extra) were copious and delicious. Staff from the front desk to the restaurant are professional and pleasant. Beautiful ground with a lot of green spaces, peaceful lake (kayak provided), with a waterfall at the end of lake. It’s close to downtown Flat Rock (small and cute). Hendersonville is about 15 min and Asheville in 30 min. DuPont Recreational Forest has so many hiking trails leading to several gorgeous falls.

3 families and 3 cottages. We were pleased with the cottages. Clean and the beds were comfortable. Kitchen area well furnished with toaster, coffee maker and microwave as well as plates and silverware. Honeysuckle cottage was the gathering spot. Great floor plan for adults and kids. TV was perfect for college football games. We spent time at the pool. Went to the dock and used the paddle boat. And we had the breakfast buffet…very good. Spent time in Hendersonville and explored the wineries. The cottages were the perfect hub for our activities. It’s a hidden gem!

The grounds were beautiful although I never did find the lake. Enjoyed the quaint atmosphere of the lodge room and the gathering area. We stayed mid week so it was very quiet. The breakfast was very good but felt the dinner menu could use some tweaking.

As customers of the Seasons Restaurant at the Highland Lake Inn for a long time, my wife and I spontaneously decided to rent a cabin for a quiet getaway. It turned out to be one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. Although a wedding was taking place at the main building, we were able to enjoy the natural scenery in a quiet and relaxing environment. Our ultimate experience was enjoying another fantastic dinner from the Seasons topped with an exceptional bottle of Louis Latour Chameroy 2022 in a quiet setting at the cabin that evening. And as a result of our wonderful stay at the resort and its highly courteous and helpful staff, my wife and I plan to return in September and hopefully, once a month afterwards to recharge our batteries. My one and only recommendation is that after spending several hundred $$$ on the cabin, full course dinner with halibut, trout and chicken cordon bleu and a nice bottle of wine, Highland Lake Inn should allow you to have your complimentary breakfast and coffee at the cabin versus the restaurant. The sole reason for the trip was to get away from the crowd and having breakfast with a roomful of hungry/noisy strangers just ruins the ambiance.

Beautiful property. Very friendly and accommodating. So quiet and comfortable. The seasons restaurant was delicious. One of the best we have been to. We went both nights. A little pricey but worth it. Service and food was the best. I had pork chop, next night salmon. The pool was very nice too. Felt great on a hot afternoon. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Lakeside Inn nestled in the mountains! Excellent restaurant on property. Very friendly staff. We’ll be back!

It was a little to close to traffic. Could here cars on the road at night.
