Protea Hotel by Marriott Cape Town North Wharf

Everything was within walking distance.

The noise and the construction.

Business trip. Would have been good to know that there was a major building works right adjacent to the hotel.

The breakfast was good enough.Staff were generally friendly and helpful.

The view was not great. Looking down on a construction site. Not a hint of a mountain view.

This apart-hotel is very nice. Good location if your business is in the city. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Every request was met efficiently and with a smile, which goes a long way into making a hotel a good one. There was construction right next door so it was noisy very early in the morning. I don’t think I can fault the hotel for this though since it doesn’t have control over it and it will hopefully be for limited time. Just a heads up for anyone traveling around this time, request a room away from the noise. Other than that it’s a good hotel. I’ve stayed before, years ago, and will stay again.

The apartment was very comfortable with good facilities, comfortable lounge area and large bed. Breakfast/bar staff were very friendly and helpful

We found the pre contact from the hotel unhelpful and several of the reception staff had poor attitudes. The toilet in the room was hopeless at flushing, and despite being told there would be bottled water provided every day we only ever got it when we asked. The gym was disappointing to say the least.
