"Buyer beware"

1.0

I was blocked by the owners after requesting further compensation for this atrocious stay. They also removed my reservation on booking.com so I could no longer be in communication with them as well. So with no communication I will go ahead and reapply my review. The owner asked for it to be removed and although I agreed to it, I asked the next day to be fully compensated and was completely ignored. This place is extremely unprofessional, lacking hospitality and knowledge in this industry. The photos on the website paint a different picture of what will be experienced. Although the owner, Sylvester, did show sympathy: it was not enough to replace what disappointment and chaos him and his partner marc caused. Original review My husband and I planned this getaway to celebrate the last two years of anniversaries, birthdays, Christmas, etc. Our baby is 15 months old and we haven't been away together since our honeymoon. We have had to save up money for a getaway because money is tight between the economy and having a baby. We were looking forward to this trip to rekindle our relationship and to have a few days to ourselves, but that quickly turned into a disaster shortly after our arrival. Walking into suite 4 were immediately underwhelmed and confused how it looked so much bigger online. First thing we did was check out the room. The heater is extremely noisy, the fireplace let out a toxic gas smell that smelled so bad it made my husband and I nauseated and left with migraines. The TV service did not work. The tub took an extremely long amount of time to fill even a quarter of the way. We immediately contacted the owner mark who told us “we can shut the fireplace off for you”. Considering this is a big amenity of the room we expected a functional working fireplace. Soon after the owner Sylvester came and switched us to suite 3 for the remainder of our stay. Although suite 3 was more desirable, it also had its own issues.

Considering this is a big amenity of the room we expected a functional working fireplace. Soon after the owner Sylvester came and switched us to suite 3 for the remainder of our stay. Although suite 3 was more desirable, it also had its own issues. The refrigerator did not work which we were not aware of until the next morning when the room and our drinks smelled of burning plastic. The fireplace stopped working even with turning the dial as directed. Either the pilot blew or the propane ran out. We spent over $1000 for this stay it should not be my job to constantly reach out to the owners for broken or non working items. These things should be properly checked before each check in and should not fall on the new client checking in to report to the owner. This is both common sense and common hospitality. They had a birthday party who rented out the entire main house both nights of our stay. When we went to check out all of their stuff was out around the house and it felt uncomfortable like we were walking into a strangers house. Inns are supposed to have common areas for ALL guests. Mark is very rude in my opinion and not a very good hospitable host. Sylvester was much more friendly to deal with and told me he would contact me to compensate us for all of the problems, still waiting for that to happen. We will not be returning back to this establishment.

"Relaxing winter weekend"

10.0

We Stayed at Chimney Hill Estate as a Christmas gift to each other to relax, sleep in, and just… get away. Marek went to great lengths to make sure everything we could possibly need was provided. Barn Suite 3 was perfect. Clean, beautifully decorated, well appointed and the mattress was so good, that I asked for the details! Better than home!! I imagine there’s more to take advantage of in the warmer months as far as hiking, outside dining, etc., but even in the off season, we would recommend Chimney Hill Estates.

"A Charming European-Style Retreat"

10.0

I stayed at Chimney Hill Estate Inn from December 24-26 while visiting a nearby family, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The inn is a beautifully renovated historic property with a tasteful and elegant European charm. The rooms were cozy, inviting, and perfectly reminded me of quaint houses in Europe. Run by a warm and welcoming Eastern European family and staff, the inn exudes a homey and relaxing atmosphere. The hospitality was exceptional, with every detail thoughtfully considered—from the beautifully prepared breakfast cooked for you to the inviting tea/coffee/juice bar available for guests. It felt like a perfect spot for recuperation from the busy pace of city life. The value for the price is great and staff are very flexible in checking in and checking out time. Not only is it a great place to stay while visiting the area, but it could even serve as a destination in itself for a peaceful getaway. I highly recommend Chimney Hill Estate Inn for anyone looking for charm, comfort, and a wonderful escape from the bustle of everyday life.

"We only wish we could have enjoyed this absolutely beautiful property more because there was so much to do, explore and"

10.0

Gorgeous, property that made you feel very comfortable and right at home. The owners were both extremely kind and informative and made our family feel welcome. We did not get a chance to use the sauna but did use the hot tubs and my six year old daughter LOVED being under the stars at night.

That we couldn’t stay longer.
