Friendly staff, clean, great location- 10 min walking distance to the beach, downtown, restaurants; 3 min from the train station.

Usually stay in Cannes but learned via this first stay that Hotel Excelsior is an excellent alternative option for a stay during the Festival and any time I head to this wonderful part of France. Excellent location steps from the train station. Spacious room. I had guests over breakfast and was impressed at how warmly the staff received all of us. Will be back!

Super-friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are modern, spacious and clean. Breakfast is standard continental and really good. Quiet for a city location - a few mins walk to the train station, 5mins to the tram, 15-20mins walk to the old town and promenade. I've always stayed around the old town, never in this area but I'm converted and would definitely look to stay here for my next visit to Nice.

A nice stay overall. Amazing staff and breakfast but thats where it all stopped. The room we stayed in it was so unpractical we nearly wanted to check out and find somewhere else.. No wardrobe at all,or any units or drawers that we could have used for out stuff , so we had to live out the suitcase for 3 days . very small shower which was leaking everywhere and an impossible to use toilet . It was so small you could not sit comfortable on it and have the door closed. Sounds like a joke but it was literally that. Luckily we are both short people and we somehow managed with just a few head bumos and scraped elbows but taller people would stood nk chance for pravicy😅 The hotel is very convenient located by the main train station and thats a bonus.

If I could I would give no starts at all. Taking away the fact that after the first night I almost ended up in the hospital as I had to stay in a toxic room full with rotting fumes and mold unfortunately there's nothing which this hotel can offer and definitely not a four start property. (The day after they forced us to stay in the room it has been taken out of function which shows how bad the situation is)The hotel advertised are not the same as in real life. As a hotelier with 17 years of experience working internationally I feel that this property is grossly neglected. PLEASE DO NOT advertise this property as four star. What we experienced was rot in the rooms and the breakfast room, bad breakfast which included sour milk, no food (people were fighting for a roll), lose fittings, badly appointed rooms to the extent that we had to walk sideways to get to the toilet, plastic coffee cups in the bathroom, no soap dish etc. and I can go on and on. We paid to a certain type of room and being put into a lower category. Still waiting for the refund which we have been promised at check out. The management is invisible and never responded to my pleading email to help us sorting out the situation. (Apparently the GM was on holiday hence we did not get any help) Please stop misleading people and put things right so this lovely building receives the attention it needs. It is located in a nice neighbourhood and can offer a lot.

I stayed at this hotel during a recent business trip. The staff at reception are incredibly helpful and professional. They really do go above and beyond. The rooms are great, and the breakfast is outstanding. The hotel is perfectly located, very close to the centre of Nice (3-5min walk).

The hotel frontage is very elegant. I had a very efficient and friendly welcome, indeed all of the reception staff were pleasant. The public areas are tastefully decorated throughout - grey patterned carpets and abstract wall art. Wide staircases and landings on each floor. The rooms however are narrow and have wooden floors. Worst of all rather thin walls! TV next door could be very clearly heard. Ear plugs are strongly recommended, in addition there is the almost constant sound of water trickling (don't know why). Tasteful spacious bathroom with red mosaic tiles. The bath tub had a rainfall shower with cube shaped taps. There was also a separate hand held shower head- this I think has been repeatedly dropped onto the tub because it was heavily chipped. The safe and power points were awkward to access as they were inside doorless cupboard space. Wifi in the hotel is totally useless! It would not allow a connection due to a privacy / certificate issue. breakfast is served at 7am but the aromas of the preparation can be detected wafting upstairs two hours earlier. Lovely selection of cereals, breads, preserves, cheeses, cold meats, pancakes, croissants, cakes and yogurts and the hot selection contains scrambled egg, bacon and sausages. Pure orange juice too!, lovely not to have sickly sweet from concentrate.

Great. Enjoyed our stay. Staff went out of their way to be very accommodating. Each and every staff member we came across was so lovely and friendly. Property (reception) was very clean… breakfast in the morning was simple but nice. Only thing I would say is that you should get to breakfast before 10.00am otherwise there will be nothing left to eat. We were left without eggs today when we arrived at 10am which was quite sad… their eggs (which we were “in time” for the previous day) were awesome and tasty! Just wish we got what we paid for in terms of buffet breakfast… especially considering breakfast finishes at 10.30am. Anyway… on the whole really great experience. Would strongly recommend. In terms of location - I’m sooooo glad I picked this stay! Walking distance to all of the main sights!!!! Brilliant!

Nice and calm. Staff was very supportive and accomodating when we wanted to merge two seperate bookings, so we did not have to change rooms halfway our stay.
