Fairfield Inn & Suites Mount Vernon Rend Lake

Arrived late, 10pm as a Gold for life member. At check in there were numerous signs stating the elevator was noisy but was safe. Ok... Was given a room right next to the elevator. I was tired and thought how bad could it be. Well it was horribly loud. I asked for another room and they said too bad so sad, no other rooms available. So it's 11pm and I had been on the road for 13 hours. Desk clerk suggested other hotel chains in the area or the next Marriott chain was about an hour away. I was too tired to continue. It was the worst night ever. In the AM I asked for the manager who was not available. I asked for a call which never happened. Why have loyalty to Marriott when they can't even bother to call

We didn’t eat there. We did our reservation on line and a confirmation and then they had no room reservation for us once we got there. Thankfully a very kind and helpful desk person helped us out!!

They didn’t have our reservation. Room could have been cleaner.

The breakfast needs some work.

The greeting and exiting staff for kind quick to help the overnight staff were on top of their job attentive anytime we came in and out of the lobby everyone did their job well cleaning crew did excellent

One of my only dislikes was that the breakfast started at 6:30 working I had to leave by 5:00 5:30 but that's understandable

Booked a handicapped accessible room for three senior ladies. Arrived at hotel where the front desk advised we were on the 2cnd floor. Then they said the elevator was broken and did not know when it would be fixed. Asked for a first floor room because we had luggage and bad knees. Hotel said all booked up so no alternatives. Ladies were forced to lug their suitcases up two flights of stairs. Hotel offered no help. When we complained to front desk at check out they said no comp. Asked for manager and front desk said he was in a meeting and would email me. Still waiting to hear from him. Elevators break and I get that but staff did nothing to help us seniors and did not follow up. For those reasons I rate this hotel low. Ended up cancelling my return stay.

Great location, have stayed there multiple times.

Elevator didn’t work, and my first room the A/C had issues as well.

We showed up and the only elevator was out of order. No plan B shared by the person folding towels at the check-in desk. Two seniors carrying luggage up the stairs. Fortunately we were only on 2. The out of order sign was laminated so I checked reviews. A week earlier there was no elevator. It is basically illegal to not have a back up plan.

The room and bed were not too bad

Waited 10-15 minutes for someone to come to the front desk, then they put us on the 3rd floor with the elevator broken we had to carry our luggage up, we about both in our 60’s. The breakfast was not very good.
