"Overall the stay was perfect apart from the buffet dinner"

Breakfast was excellent with plenty of variety

The only thing that let them down and it was a disaster. The buffet dinner at night at $70 a head was nothing less than very poor, Starting from the soup to the main meal, everything we looked at in the hot food mainly the meats were stewing in a cooker with the gas rings off. 100 per cent of the food was cold and unacceptable. We complained about it and they agreed, we got a complete refund and they did offer a free bar meal so we had a dessert. If they need at looking how to prepare a buffet look no further than the Devon Motor Lodge in New Plymouth.

"Awesome stay"

The gym was awesome good location also!!

Our room was a little dusty you could kind of smell it like that old grama smell but it was a lovely stay

"Very convenient for what I needed"

There are a lot of medical facilities around there and it was very convenient to my doctor I ordered a vegetarian dish one night and it was excellent. Very tasty. You definitely need a car to get around.

Awesome big bed, the staff were friendly and seemed to really like their jobs/happy in the work place which is always a good sign. The buffet breakfast was good. Seamless check in and plenty of parking.

Only 2 things we noticed that weren’t major but we wanted to note- The phone in our room didn’t work. I needed to call reception but phone wouldn’t work (I did let reception know). The TV should have capability to cast from your phone or have streaming services on the TV that you can log into. In the age of rubbish satellite TV and the world moving to streaming services, you should be able to use this in your room somehow. We had planned to spend the day in bed watching movies, luckily my husband had his work computer but we had to go buy an HDMI cord to watch Netflix on the TV. Satellite TV consists of infomercials for half the day so it would be worth looking into better options (chrome cast would be a great option!).
