Old Town Hotel

The breakfast was very tasty and definitely one of the highlights of the stay. The hotel also offers very good massage services - the quality was high and we really enjoyed it.

The coffee at breakfast could be improved. There was only a self-service option, and at times there were no filter bags available, so the whole setup felt inconvenient. The rooms have poor sound insulation - you can clearly hear what is happening around you, which affects comfort. The room itself feels a bit worn-out and outdated, and it is quite obvious that both the hotel and the rooms would benefit from renovation. The lighting in the room was also not great. The location is still within walking distance to the city center, but it does require some time to get there, so it’s worth keeping in mind. The staff were not particularly impressive - communication sometimes felt a bit uncomfortable, with occasional misunderstandings or a sense of dissatisfaction. That said, these were relatively minor issues, and overall there was nothing seriously negative during the stay.

The staff were friendly, if a little pushy with tours, tailors etc.

The bathroom is a wet room (no glass on the shower) which made it a bit frustrating trying to get in and out. The view from the room was of a power line directly in front of the balcony, a concrete slab, and an overgrown field. It’s definitely a budget hotel. I realised immediately it wasn’t for me, and the staff very kindly helped me with my refund as I changed hotels after a one night stay.

Ruhig gelegenes kleines Hotel ca. 10 Fußminuten von der historischen Altstadt entfernt. Der Name ist also nicht ganz faktengetreu. Bau und Einrichtung sind in die Jahre gekommen, aber noch ganz passabel. Nett war auch der kleine, erfrischend kühle Pool.

Die Rezeptionistin versuchte uns gleich beim Empfang allerlei aufzuschwatzen, bis hin zu einem Inseltrip, obwohl wir mit gerade mal einer Übernachtung extra für die Besichtigung der zahlreichen historischen Sehenswürdigkeiten angereist waren. Das Frühstück gab es à la carte, mit einer lieblosen Getränkeecke, in der man sich seinen Kaffee mit seltsamen Einwegfiltern selbst zubereiten konnte. Die Jandhabung erklärte uns freundlicherweise ein anderer Gast.

I showed up to the hotel later in the evening, around midnight. The hotel guidelines did not specify a check in time threshold. Only that check in starts at 2pm. Unfortunately i showed up at the hotel at midnight to check in, and no one was there.

I was happy to be close to the old town by foot. It’s the reason I choose the hotel.
