Jesmond Dene House

Second visit to this lovely hotel. Friendly and welcoming staff. Clean and comfortable and very good breakfast. We will be using this hotel again when we next come to Newcastle.

Room bit small and poor view

We spent a delightful 2 nights here at the end of May. We were so lucky to be upgraded to The Apartment which was quirky and a highlight was an amazing bath - it also had a fantastic outdoor space in the rooftops with seating. We ate in the Fern on the first night and the food and wine were gorgeous (and the pudding picture perfect and tasted delicious) - the service attentive and relaxed. Breakfast each morning was a great way to start the day - the cooked breakfast was yummy, sausages especially. The whole stay was relaxed and service was lovely - they provided extra milk for tea/coffee and ice for cold drinks in the room on request. We walked to the metro stop (about 10 mins walk from the hotel) and visited the city centre without the hassle of driving. A wonderful place in a wonderful part of the country - we hope to visit again.

The mattress was too hard and I didn't sleep well, I had backache

The location is great, as is the general feel of the place. The staff were attentive, especially a fairly new team member called Dean who was excellent.

We had been upgraded to a garden suite which was a lovely surprise Very peaceful and plenty of space. Lovely grounds in a city location and on the edge of a park - perfect for a morning run. Fantastic breakfast including Craster kippers and no problem with Gluten free Reception staff told us more about the interesting history of the property and first owner Would visit again

Great to have twin sinks in bathroom but soap dispenser would be better in the middle for convenience - but that's being fussy !
