Floor was dirty

No breakfast, coffee accessible. Clean room. Staff incredibly accommodating and helpful. Will plan to stay again and again in the future!! Perfect down town placement as well as easy to find. Staff absolutely welcoming and solution based. 10/10

The Astoria Rivershore is exactly the kind of lodging we look for when traveling. We try to avoid the corporate chains and are delighted when we find a clean, updated, well stocked, comfortable old motel owned and run independently by (we assume) local residents. The only reason I did not rate it a 10 is that it is not a luxury motel. However, I would give it a 10 in the category of older, economy motels. The living room is spacious, the kitchen is a full, efficient, well stocked kitchen, the bed is very comfortable, the linens are slightly above average, and everything was very clean. The shower/bath/toilet room is tight, but that's how they were built back in the day. Despite being on the main highway on the west end of town, the traffic noise was negligible. It was winter, so windows were closed. We were on the 2nd story and had a lovely view across the highway to the bridge and the river. The office staff were friendly and accommodating.

Recognizing that this is an older building that would be extremely expensive to upgrade and maintain like a new, posh facility, there were signs of its age. The stairway to the 2nd floor, while not at all dangerous, was in need of a bit of TLC. The room smelled a little stale when we first arrived, but we opened the window in the bedroom, left the door to the unit open, got a little cross breeze going for a short time and all was good.

The room was clean and well maintained. The heater worked well and kept the room comfortable. The staff was wonderful and made us feel at home.

The parking was tight and frequently we had to park away from building.
