whilst we enjoyed our stay, and received good service, we do feel that the hotel is aging and minimal renewals that respects the same style would enhance the property and would be more in line with the 5 star rating. Unfortunately for us it was impossible to test the restaurant as it was privatized which found disappointing for a 5 star hotel to privatize public areas without notifying its customers in advance.
Spent two nights at this hotel. It is clean and of a modern design. Nice accommodation however SECURITY is an issue due to the space age sliding doors to the room (Aphrodite). They can be easily opened by pulling on the door -ie you can't lock your room. When queried with reception I was told that the hotel has security cameras so no one will steal anything...... They are very enthusiastic about cleaning the room. We arrived, showered, used the dressing gowns, then changed and went for dinner. On our return to the room soon after it had been tidied and the dressing gowns taken and not replaced. Just a bit odd to clean the room given we arrived at about 1900 in the evening. Finally the restaurant - we found it to be a bit of a lucky dip as to what turned up when ordering food for one meal and they really do have all the cleaners hard at work during breakfast. Surprising for a 5* hotel. However, the views are fantastic and the food generally good. They were accommodating about providing an early breakfast and have a nice bar downstairs which had a projector showing the World Cup. (The channels on the TV in the room seemed rather limited.)
No pool, only one restaurant, the rooms are getting old, the service is disastrous. Absolutely not worth the 5 stars and certainly not the high rates of the rooms. At that rate there is plenty of other hotels in the same area which are much better.
great for nightlife but built for a couples getaway. King size beds only although the website says 2 twins are an option. service was slow and unresponsive
Excellent room, a little eccentric (bath and shower in the middle of the room!), but wonderful view of the sea and an ideal position for visiting the archaeological remains of Carthage.
