The accommodation was disappointing

A fairly pleasant 2 star boutique hotel. The apartments are quite decent but very dated. No electric kettle …but a kettle on the gas stove which did the job. The kitchen is reasonably laid out with most items that are needed. The Microwave oven which did work very well must be from the 1930’s. The bed was king size, comfortable & clean but there are many bitey bugs that will get you. Air Conditioning which was old but working well. The bathrooms have seen better days but were clean. The balcony was a great boon & would recommend. The Swimming pool is a decent size for the 22 flatlets in the complex but…cleanliness here, leaves a LOT to be desired! The only cleaning that I saw was one of the staff going round with a fishing net to remove floaters. What is really unhygienic is the colour of the water, which looks as though it’s not being filtered properly & the walls of the pool, covered in green algae/slime! A local friend commented on this & said that he wouldn’t go in there! I stayed out of the pool as it looks like a breeding ground for something nasty! The deckchairs were nice! The Staff were Lovley….in particular the Cleaners who were very efficient & helpful! Thank you Nancy…..a credit to the hotel. I hope they appreciate you! However the desk staff need to up their helpfulness… The booking out rule of 12 o’clock is ruthlessly obeyed even when the apartments are only a quarter occupied. We were allowed an extra 15 minutes after I asked if we could vacate at 1300 due to our afternoon flight! It’s Barbados & the laid back attitude of the staff could be taken for indifference. It’s just their way & nothing in Barbados is done with a sense of urgency.

Im not one for writing negative reviews but our room no73 was awful the bed sheets were yellow and had to be changed admittedly the rest of the room was not so easily fixed,the hotel was apparently full so we couldn't move untill the forth day we were only staying for five days so wasn't worth moving anyway ive posted some photos of the room and leave it upto others to decide what they think and whether the owners think it was worth the full payment.

The staff at Pirates Inn were very helpful and friendly. They attended to any questions asked very professionally. I would revisit again.

Fantastic long stay in a spotlessly clean room with terrace in a great location. Perfect for the solo traveller with 24hr front desk… friendly staff and met lots of nice people …food was all so good value and freshly cooked. I’m going to miss it and can see why people return every year…

The location was great. Close to many eating places, shopping and beaches.

We liked the position and the pool, a bit basic but ok.

I couldn't believe there was no water and toothpaste in my room. The stove you have to lite it with matches but i didn't take the chance. The counter area was full of ants,which was so scary.
