Hotel TRH Paraiso

Chose this hotel as it is a few minutes drive from family’s villa in Benahavís. Wouldn’t recommend location if wanting to be near Puerto Banus but was great for us. Hotel is clean and tidy but nothing special! Couldn’t get 2 beds round pool so my partner and I had to share. Very busy at this time of year. Games such as bingo are played around pool and disco dancing in the evening - not the place if you’re looking for a romantic couples trip! Bedroom was clean and tidy but bed extremely hard and air con wasn’t great. Engineer did come and attempt to fix but wasn’t cold as it should be for our entire stay. Overall fine for the money - a clean base to sleep in but wouldn’t want to spend time in the hotel bar/restaurant or pool area.

Decently specked hotel which has had a makeover in recent years. Mountain view is better than pool view for us - as it's a noisy pool during school hols. Our kids loved it when they were younger. Staff charming. Family oriented but you really need wheels. Nowhere to walk to in vicinity unless you're fit enough for hill climb from the careterra (A7) ribbon development. The beach is other side of this main road and still some distance at that. Walkers can use foot bridge to cross this road but drivers need to drive 2.5m along it to Cancelada's cambio de sentido (change of direction).

house keeping staff and reception staff are excellent, restaurant staff I found a bit miserable but effective

Good location for golf but quite remote for everything else and you definitely need a car (parking is free). We stayed a few years ago and vastly improved now. Lots of multi-national tour groups so can get a bit busy but plenty of room in lounge, pool area and restaurant. Food is OK though more vegetables on buffet would be good! Desserts not imaginative but nice cheese available. Rooms are comfy and spacious with big balcony and great views. For UK guests, upside several UK TV channels (BBC1 & 2, Channel 5, BBC and Sky news) downside, no tea tray. Safe (payable) and fridge (free). Lots of sun loungers. Friendly helpful reception staff who offered a cold dinner in our room when we arrived at 9.30 (we advised them by email that we would be arriving late) but restaurant was open anyway till 10.00pm.

No tea/coffee refreshment in room. Only one plug located away from bedside. Staff pleasant and friendly.

A Terrible hotel to stay. Arrived for a four night stay and checked out after one night. When I arrived the weather in the area was over 22 degrees and the room was boiling hot and uncomfortable. The air-conditioning wouldn't work and when I queried with the receptionist she stated that the air-con 'wasn't switched on until the summer'. The advert clearly stated 'fully air conditioned climate control rooms'. Avoid at all costs.

Great value for money hotel. All staff very helpful and friendly apart the old man that was the restaurant manager. He was very arrogant and unfriendly which was a shame.

Great hotel, amazing pool and gardens. High standard of cleanliness . Beautiful views, car essential.

More like 2 star. I was upgraded as my first room was filthy and in bad state of repair and was upgraded. The restaurant for breakfast was disgusting and I have photos but don't know how to send to you. If I'd been a health inspector I would have closed it down. I decided to have breakfast outside of hotel. If I put the photos on internet no one would go. I feel I should receive compensation. I've sent two photos and would like to be contacted
