Amfora Hvar Grand Beach Resort

The staff we encountered were helpful and attentive. The breakfast spread was great every morning (particularly the omelette station). The room had been newly renovated, with new appliances (including comfort cooling, nespresso machine and large TV with HDMI input) and had a nice, modern bathroom with a good shower. The pool area and beachfront are lovely in the sunshine, although we stayed in early May out of peak season and the pool felt very busy, so can’t imagine how busy it feels during peak season. The location is perfect for the old town while still having that holiday resort feel within the hotel grounds.

Our main gripe is that we booked for 10 nights from 4th May and we were contacted 2 weeks prior to have our trip cancelled as they were no longer taking bookings until 6th May. There was no effort made to alter our booking and transfer us to Amfora on the 6th May. We had our entire 10 night stay cancelled and moved to another hotel for the duration which was far cheaper per night and we were offered no compensation for the fact we’d paid Amfora’s rates which were more costly. We felt this was really poor customer service. We ended up altering our holiday ourselves and stayed in a resort on the other side of the island for the first 2 nights instead. The lobby, restaurant and other common areas are a bit tired having not been updated or renovated and although the room decor was done well, the balconies also need an upgrade. Lastly, the check out system is painfully slow and outdated. Everyone who needed to get the 7:45 ferry, had to check out at the same time and there was only one person on reception which made the experience high stress. People shouldn’t have to wait that long to check out especially when they have a ferry or flight to catch.

O quarto é extremamente velho, tem literalmente teia de aranha nas paredes do quarto, terrível. O chuveiro só tem água morna, quase fria, tomar banho foi uma tortura, tremendo, e mesmo depois de avisar a recepção nada foi feito. O ar condicionado não funciona, as cortinas não tem blackout, e estão se desfazendo e caindo, o box do chuveiro não tem vedação então a cada banho o banheiro fica parecendo uma piscina, é um caos total, e a recepção não fez nada para melhorar, foram 3 noites terríveis.

Excellent clean modern facility. Very good breakfast buffet. Elevator but still lots of stairs. They pick up your luggage at the ferry dock but a 20 minute walk from dock to hotel.

Dinner buffet not worth it (we did not eat). Beach rocky. WiFi poor.

Excellent location , just a 10 minute walk into the town. Beach clubs also a similar distance aswell - Hula hula is next door to the hotel Breakfast was really good… big shout out to the waiter who serves drinks/ think his name was Marilyn - so friendly ,and made the best coffee for my husband ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Very comfortable rooms, the location is excellent and great value.

Obviously there is some refurbishment ongoing but this meant that some of our party had upgraded rooms which was a lovely surprise. The property is ideally situated a short walk along the promenade from Hvar town. Pool area is gorgeous and as we stayed just before the start of the season, it was quiet and peaceful.

We had a little wait for check in as the Lee was a new system, however Marija was particularly helpful and friendly through our stay

Everything. They delivered our bags from ferry so we could enjoy the city until check in. Welcome champagne, helpful staff and consierge. Excellent breakfast. Great views and clean large comfortable beds. Beautiful resort. Weather was cold so we didn’t use pool.
