White River Inn & Suites

This place is one notch above a dump. First, the door to the room looked like it was painted by a chimp with a dry brush. The bed was an old box spring mattress, which is still responsible for neck and back pain days later. The bedding sheets and blankets were circa 1960, and probably just as old. The room I had was not designed for business travelers since all I had was a small round table with a couple of chairs. Unlike most up-to-date motels with wall-mounted soap systems, the shower had a half-dollar-sized piece (both in circumference and thickness) of soap to shower with. The hotel itself has no visible lobby or check-in sign on or near the door. Parking can get tough, and I couldn't imagine what they would do if they were sold out. Other than that, everything was 'fine'.

Although we were about 50 minutes early, we tried to check in. I think the man who checked us in could have been nicer about it. He said my room wasn’t ready and pointed to a sign that said check in at 3. Just could have said I’m sorry no early check ins. The biggest complaint is the doors stick. Got woken up this morning to banging from a door. Trying to close it I assume. The pool door also stuck and friends staying here, their door stuck. I feel like that could be a fire hazard. When you have to pull on it a couple of times to open it, you can’t get out in a hurry. If you have to close it in a hurry could be dangerous too.

He made sure i got everything i requested. He was helpful and straight forward. Also he was friendly and patient. I give him 5 stars.

Charming cottage in an adorable western themed town of Wynthrop. Walkable to town. Absolutely adorable!

The property was under construction and seemed like it was also section 8 housing. People milling around outside. Cigarette butts everywhere, a man living in his truck in the parking lot. Just seemed like an unkept, unsafe situation. I left after one night. On a good note, my room was clean!

We should have known when we realized the upper latch lock on the door was missing, but we figured ok we'll deal. After about 2 hours we noticed the room was so oddly humid, you could feel it in your clothes. Finally figured out the rugs were damp to touch Asked to change rooms. The front desk was great. When we got to the new room, we realized the 1st room we had must have had something not ok happen. Only until we went to the new room we relized it was missing all art on the wall, floor lamps a dresser. I am so glad I asked to switch, but ughh very disappointing.

The check in was great - we even got in a little early. Beds were very comfortable and room was nice and large. TV had a lot of channels - more then most. We went down to breakfast around 7:00 - was okay, but most everything was cold by the time we got there. Would have liked to see a little more hot items, especially home fries or something like that. Other then that it was an enjoyable stay. Would stay there again if we have to come to White River.

We’ve been staying here for over two months and it’s been a great experience. The rooms are comfortable (loved the new couch and chair), the hallways smell fresh, and the public bathrooms are spotless. Breakfast could use a little more variety and brighter lighting in the rooms would be nice, but overall no real complaints. Jamie, the general manager, has been amazing and so helpful. Definitely recommend!
