Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel

Everything was amazing. I had just an amazing stay. No complaints at all.

We just completed a 4-day convention at those hotel. We were one of the sponsors of the event. I am disappointed to share that the hotel and its staff fell significantly below expectation or me. Front Desk staff is rude and uncourteous when we called for hotel information prior to the event.  They gave incorrect information to the customer on the phone about lounge availability, size of room, as well as amenities. During check in, they did not honor Elite benefits.  During 3 separate calls, I found James and Kyle to be rude in handling my questions.  One Front Desk agent hung up on the call in the middle of a conversation.  While we are hosting a major 4-day event at this property, the experience was not been good.  James actually lied to me about reservation informaton/additions we requested. Kyle would not provide the name of the front desk person who was rude on the phone and hung up on the call. Whe asked to speak a supervisor, they couldn't find one. While we had Platinum memembehip, we are disappointed by the rude and unprofessional behavior demonstrated by the hotel staff.  When we were ordering the Uber, Albert - the bellboy, asked us to book the taxi thru him for $35 which was exact price that Uber had. I told him that we were 4 passengers and he said he could have taxi ready for our departure time of 1pm. So we booked the taxi thru Albert. His tax did not show up until 1:30pm. Albert kept insisting that the car will be there in few minutes, but was delayed by 30 minutes. Obviously, we were stressed as we had a flight to take. Once the driver arrived, we quickly got in. As we left the hotel, the driver started making demands for additional money. I told him Albert had informed us $35. He started making excuses about a higher rate and that Albert quoted the wrong price. Upon arriving the airport, the driver asked for $54!!!We want to alert everybody about the deceptive business practices at the hotel or with Albert. DO NOT book taxi thru the hotel.We dont recommend this hotel for business or personal use because of it unethical staff, lack of customer courtesy, and dishonest businesses practices.

The only issue with the hotel is parking.

In town for conference, and looking for an alternative to the event hotel. Renaissance Schaumburg reviews looked good (rightfully so) so booked and good to go. Have not been in Chicagoland since 2019, and clearly the traffic remains a challenge so thankful to not have to go downtown. Conference was almost exactly a mile away and thankful for finding this property. Check-in mid-evening was a breeze, front desk team super friendly and helpful, and was quickly up to room to drop bags. Have Ambassador Elite status currently and was blessed with a corner room which I think was an upgrade. Impeccably clean room, tasteful decor and though it was a sweet 99 degrees and spotty rain showers, the room AC was dialed and held a comfortable temperature. Down to restaurant for a late dinner. Enjoyed a NY strip which was perfectly cooked (medium rare) and a quality old fashioned. Random perspective, but when an establishment does a good job on a classic like an old fashioned, its a good sign. Bar staff service timing was just right and in general, my dining experience was very enjoyable. Really trying to avoid plastic bottles, and though the vending machines have plastic bottles, you can purchase glass sparkling water and spring water at the front desk. Its a little detail I happened to notice and VERY much appreciated! Of note, woke up at 0330 second day parched, and went down to front desk in the middle of the night - Stacy who I believe was doing the night auditing was so kind and helpful with what was a simple purchase of a couple waters, really reflected what was an enjoyable stay. Bed was comfortable and supportive, none of the mattress sag that tends to occur over time, and the pillows were dare I say, perfect as well. There is a Marriott Executive Lounge with light eats morning and evening to take the edge off as well. Feels somewhat odd to rave about a hotel from a business trip, but the combination of so many little things done right and consistency across elements of the property is a reflection of strong management. Will definitely be back when in the area!!!

We stayed here for a big family wedding which was taking place in their ballroom. It’s A beautiful, large building, but……..it’s so huge that it takes an enormous amount of walking to get around the hotel, let alone its ballrooms and meeting rooms. The entrance leads to a massive lobby in the center, which has to be walked through to get to the elevator or escalator leading to the front desk in one corner of the second floor. Once checked in you have to take the elevator up to your floor and u less you are lucky you will have a long walk to your room as there is just one bank of elevators located on one side of the massive building. Our room was at the other extreme side away from the elevators. Ouch! Very, very inconvenient. Also, they are building a parking garage but it is nowhere near finished. Parking is very far away so more walking while dragging suitcases. We opted for valet parking at $25/day to avoid this. On the plus side: a beautiful pool and hot tub! Also a nice restaurant which serves a great weekend brunch plus some tasty lunch dishes we tried. Bellman was very nice and helpful as was valet parking staff. Special shout out to Jame at the front desk who was extremely helpful.

We had a great stay. The hotel was excellent. Loved the quiet and comfortable rooms.

Drilling noise started at 10 am. Apparently they are refurbishing rooms on the 14th floor (I was on the 10th, and it was loud!) I was informed when I called the front desk that it will be like this till 4pm. How do you even rent rooms where it is impossible to be from 10 till 4?

Parking was not good. Limited at convention center and there was construction at the hotel.
