Holiday Inn Express Nuneaton by IHG

Been updated and is now bright and modern

On arrival the bedroom was cold and we took a 1 yr old with us. Staff were excellent in providing a travel cot. Breakfast choice excellent but the cooked breakfast was dry and the sausages were not well cooked at all.

At breakfast, vegetarian sausages were available on request. The room was nice, the bed very good, and the lighting confusing, which I enjoy.

I chose Holiday Inn specifically because a cooked breakfast was advertised, but the breakfast was a disappointing failure. I only want two things at breakfast; good coffee and fried eggs, neither of which were available. The coffee was unpleasant, from a concentrated coffee liquid machine. The 'scrambled eggs' were made from powder; this is a deal breaker, please just don't do that. I asked for a room with a bath, which they kindly provided, but on none of the 3 nights that I ran a bath was the water from the hot tap actually hot, it was always just warm. Again, the staff were super responsive but were unable to resolve the problem. The water from the shower was always hot.

Good value for money. Room and food options consistent with chain standards.
