This is one of the best hotels in Houghton, period the staff is friendly and courteous, the property is clean and well maintained, and the location is convenient. There's nothing quite as welcoming as a blazing fire in the fireplace and the smell of fresh baked cookies! Nicole and her staff always go the extra mile. I am a retired "road warrior" with many hotel stays over the years, and I have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly. Country Inn and Suites in Houghton sets a high bar for others to clear. Very good value for money.

"College Visit"

Hotel was overpriced for location and time of the year. Similar hotel in Marquette was ~$100 cheaper. Taking advantage of limited choices Room clean. Front staff friendly. Breakfast average.

The staff was very helpful and courteous. The location was excellent. The rooms were clean.

The breakfast bar could have been better. The food was not replaced in a timely manner. There was little attention to cleanliness of the place. The garbage was overflowing, tables were not washed off, and the food spaces were not kept clean. For those reasons we chose not to eat there during the rest of our stay. Also, we thought it was extremely overpriced for the age of the place.
