Le Ski d'Or

I guess my disappointed comes from the 4* rating of the hotel: had I expected less, I would not have been so disillusioned. Do not expect any help with your luggage or skis. When you arrive, the staff will remain seated and will not accompany you to your room. The elevator is super small, tight for a couple with luggage, and this may be the reason no-one will accompany you to the rooms. And do not expect parking: the moment you discharge your luggage from the car, you have to take it to the public, paying parking area, and you will have to walk back in the cold. It is not a problem if all you want to do is skiing, as you are really at the bottom of the slopes, but it is an issue for anyone wishing to use a car. The room is clean but basic, not 4 star standard. No water heater in the room, no "do not disturb" sign, no minibar, the safety lock had been torn and the furniture very Ikea style. At night, you have a code to enter the hotel: though someone was at the reception when we returned, he did not bother to turn the entrance light on and we struggled in the dark. Breakfast was ok: t Only the basic coffee is free, there is a charge for cappuccino or espresso. Again, the location is perfect for skiing, and maybe this is worth the price we payed to some people. It was for one night on a weekend in January, 500$ Really not worth the price!

Very comfortable room, I have stayed in smaller apartments in Tignes than this! It is around 3 minutes walk to the bottom of the Tufs lift, which allows swift access to Val d'Isere slopes and back down to Grand Motte and Tischot lifts in Tignes.

The hotel itself is quite OK, but the staff and the management is awful. We had several big problems, for example huge problem with our transfer from the airport which we booked via the hotel. The driver just thrown away our luggage from the car in the middle of the way and refused to drive us any further because he just got some other clients (The name of the taxi company is Taxi Savoy). The hotel staff just refused to do anything about them and told us we had to find a new car ourselves (in some small village in the Alps!). Also you can't buy just the room, you also have to pay for the supper. And if you don't tell the personal in the morning that you are going to have supper in the hotel they will just sell your table in the restaurant to somebody else from the street and won't refund any money to you for the missed supper you already paid for. We missed the supper at first two days this way.

Le Ski d'Or was clean, comfortable, with fantastic service. Located a stones throw away from the slopes it was just what we wanted for a last minute ski getaway!

The hotel was in a great location just off the TUF chairlift.

Het hotel hefet op zich alle zaken, die het tot een prettig hotel kunnen maken. Schoon beddegoed, mooie inrichting, maar helaas het hotel lijkt een ziel te missen. Het personeel is niet echt vriendelijk, de menukeuze in het restaurant is erg beperkt. Tijdens ons verblijf hebben we 2 uur in d ebar gezeten, zonder dat er iemand was om iets te drinken te bestellen. Het hotel ligt wel perfect aan de piste. p.s. mijn echtgenoot is 1.97 lang en het bed was duidelijk te kort.....

Very cosy little hotel in the French Alps. Very peaceful quite. great vacation for couples. The staff were very friendly. I forgot my ski boots in the hotel. They did everything to get them back to me in the U.S.

A great location close to the ski slopes. Was very quite in the second week of January.
