How close it was to everything I wanted to do

AC was junk. There were dead bugs stuck on the walls and shower. The room only has one three prong outlet and that was needed by the AC. The beds were not comfortable and the Internet barely registered. Thankfully I didn't spend much time in the room.

The location was about the only good thing about this hotel, and the front desk help at the Thunderbird Inn, which by the way is where you'll be checking in and out. It was a 3 minute walk to the Arnold Transit Ferry to head to Mackinac Island and a 20 minute walk to Mackinaw City. The staff was very kind, patient, and helpful, which was greatly appreciated. I love that i was not only able to purchase ferry tickets and sunset cruise tickets at the hotel, but they were also discounted. Pillows were so comfy!!

The hotel is old and needs lots of maintenance, updates, repairs, and deep cleaning. The sink (room 25) was clogged (so was the one next door, room 24), the showers hot water knob was squirting water all over the place. Front desk had maintenance fix both issues, but the knob continued to do the same thing, just not as intense and they were informed at checkout. So many webs, killed several spiders and bug in the 2 nights we were there. Shower, faucets, bedding, and towels all seem very old and in need of replacements. I can only imagine the mold under the old carpet as well based on the appearance under the sink. After a day out, we were unable to use our cards to get back into the room, so we had to walk over to Thunderbird Inn in order to get that resolved since they're all under the same management apparently and operate all hotels at that location. What an inconvenience. Walls are thin, you will hear your neighbors. Light is visible through the door and AC unit. The room also was very tight with the bulky furniture, especially by the entrance. While price was friendly, the hotel itself made me feel disgusting. If you're looking for somewhere cheap and convenient location where you'll just shower and sleep at, this place is for you. However, if you're looking for comfort and clean, I don't recommend. We won't be staying here in the future. It was our first and our last.

The staff is not friendly. The suite needs maintenance, and many things need to be fixed. The bed covers were dirty, and the couch was broken. The entire suite was not properly cleaned, including the bathroom no exceptions. P.s. When we arrived, we found a note telling us to check in at the reception of another hotel, which was inconvenient and confusing.

There was 3 properties next to each other but only one place to check in. Travelling with my daughter and there was no one else at the property we booked. I was uncomfortable with that so had to pay more where we checked in. Wouldn't give receipt because I booked thru a second party.
