Barceló Fortina Malta

My overall stay at Barceló Fortina Malta was unsatisfactory, and I would not recommend this property. I booked this hotel primarily for its swimming pool. However, I was only informed upon arrival that access to the main poolside area costs an extra 100 euros. This charge was never clearly stated on the booking page or prior to check-in. It greatly undermines the value for guests when prime pool loungers are not freely available and require an additional 100-euro fee. By comparison, Verdi Gzira Promenade in the same area offers lower rates, superior sea-view rooms and a more modern style, delivering far better overall value. If you only wish to use the pool area here, it actually makes more sense to simply pay the 100-euro fee for poolside seats separately, rather than booking an expensive room with restricted access to the best spots. Verdi Gzira Promenade also hosts pool parties downstairs, where visitors can pay for seating as well, and the scenery there is lovely. There is a restaurant on the right side nearby with live singing in the evening, creating a wonderful atmosphere. The guest rooms look quite dated and are decorated in a style similar to a regular guesthouse. What’s more, the swimming pool closes at 18:00, leaving very limited time for use. Regarding the 50-euro security deposit collected at check-in: I checked out on June 3rd, but the funds had still not been refunded by June 12th. I contacted both the hotel and Booking.com, and was told the refund would take another 7 to 12 days to process. The entire refund procedure is extremely slow, which added to the poor experience. The sea view here is rather disappointing. The floors are low, and the viewing area feels more like a large open terrace. In contrast, the other hotel features fully glass-enclosed balconies. The transparent design creates a bright, crystal-clear view and a far more stunning visual experience.

A slight shame that the outdoor pool is not run by the hotel and has constant heavy music

Les piscines : En intérieur : beaucoup de résonance, en sous-sol sans fenêtre, assez sombre et un état moyen. En extérieur : accès extérieur de l’hôtel donc traverser la rue très fréquentée ou accès en sous-sol avec de très longs couloirs (ne pas oublier sa carte de chambre pour ouvrir les portes) piscine petite, étroite et surtout n’appartenant pas à l’hôtel donc un droit d’accès uniquement si vous faites une réservation via l’hôtel au moins 24 h avant (sans serviette donc ne pas oublier de la demander à la réception) Vous devez donner une plage horaire et on vous parque dans un coin juste à côté des ventilateurs de climatisation. Aucune vue sur la piscine ! Les beaux transats ne sont pas pour l’hôtel ! Le Spa : Les réservations ne se font que 24 h avant notre séance Dommage que ces équipements baissent la qualité de l’hôtel

Mini Balkon ohne vernünftige Stühle. Mitten im Zimmer eine riesige Säule die den Raum Dunkel und eng machte. Ungemütliche Bar.

Ich habe meinen Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Das Personal war unglaublich freundlich, ich habe mich jederzeit sehr wohl und willkommen gefühlt, Elhachmi und Hussain haben mir immer mit jeglichen Fragen geholfen und ich habe mich jeden Tag gefreut, ihnen in der Hotellobby zu begegnen und mit ihnen zu reden. Sie und alle Mitarbeiter, die ich kennengelernt habe, waren fantastisch und das Hotel und die Zimmer makellos. Auch das Buffet am Morgen und Abend war ausgesprochen vielfältig und wahnsinnig gut. Vielen Dank für den wunderbaren Aufenthalt :).

Sehr schöne Lage

Liegen am Pool müssen am Tag vorher gebucht werden und auch dann erhält man nur liegen in der dritten Reihe. Die Premium Liegen sind zahlenden externen Gästen vorbehalten, Beim Einchecken muss alles vorab bezahlt werden, normal kein Problem nur wenn die EC Karten Abbuchung nur für 1.000,- Euro funktioniert, was nicht an meiner Karte oder Bank lag, fängt der Urlaub schon unentspannt an. Nach ein paar Tagen funktioniert die Dusche nicht mehr richtig, dies wurde dann allerdings am gleichen Tag behoben, Insgesamt kein 5 Sterne Service
