The Shaw Club Hotel

Wonderful location, pleasant staff, spotlessly clean

We have been going for our Anniversary every year in September. Never disappointed, very clean, the restaurant and service was amazing. See you next year!!!

Upon greeting at the lobby we were handed over the keys from a young lady like it was a motel 8. No friendliness or info about the hotel or the amenities. The washroom was untouched from likely the 90's, old toilet, shower didn't even drain properly and room looked dated, tired and dark. Not worth the premium rate charge.

Check-in was easy and the staff were courteous and friendly. The hotel lobby was very pleasant and well decorated. Our room was in an annexe building attached to the hotel. The entrance was through a door from the car park, and we then had to negotiate a steep flight of stairs with our luggage, which was quite a feat. The room was pleasant enough, but strangely had a quite dated looking jacuzzi in the corner of the bedroom. The bathroom, with shower and toilet, was quite small, and needed some updating. Maybe more space could be utilised, by losing the jacuzzi and making the bathroom a little larger. The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet, and we slept very well. The hotel is situated in a very convenient location, with a large car park at the rear, next to the centre of the beautiful, picturesque town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, where there are lots of restaurants, bars and independent stores Would we stay here again? Yes, definitely in NOTL, but, sadly, not in this hotel. I think in it’s day, this property would have been ideal, but maybe it is living on it’s past reputation, rather than investing in more modern facilities for it’s guests. Just an opinion.

The Shaw Hotel is tasteful, private and offered a quality experience. It is in a perfect location to access the best of Niagara-on-the-Lake. All the boutique shops and eateries are in walking distance, the wineries a short, scenic drive. My room felt like home straight away and it had a clawfoot tub in its spotless and spacious bathroom that gave me that added sense of luxury. I loved soaking in it and the shower was equally state of the art. The restaurant and bar area is inviting and felt private, offering pleasant open air views that looks out to the charming surrounds. The breakfast package was so worth it as both the food and service was excellent for such a small add-on in cost . The staff are courteous and resourceful. It is an intimate hotel that has a real sweetness and personability. Everything is spick and span. The bathroom was palatial and my room felt like home. I would recommend this hotel for atmosphere and value. I am so happy I treated myself to stay in a setting where I could relax and get the true Niagara-on-the-Lake experience. It was a bonus to have a private parking area on the premises.

Couldn’t ask for a better location for the Festival. Very accommodating staff and z’s is a hidden treasure!

A lovely place to stay and we would stay there again. Onsite parking is a bonus. Everything within walking distance. Friendly and helpful staff.

I would love to give the Shaw Club 5 stars but there were two things that made our stay less than ideal: There was a drip in our shower and because the shower head is in the ceiling, it had a long way to go to reach the shower floor and made a very loud noise that disturbed our sleep. Also, I found the bed a little uncomfortable. I know those are minor concerns so, otherwise, I would rate it 5 stars. The staff was really amazing. Very friendly and helpful. Overall, it's very clean and well kept. We very much appreciated that the hotel has its own parking and the location is walkable to a variety of shops and a beautiful and quaint strip. The food in the hotel restaurant is really amazing. I would absolutely stay there again and recommend it to others.

Excellent stay. Staff went out of their way to arrange a shuttle as I was in treatment for prostate cancer. Also overcame a credit card issue. Breakfast and lunch were excellent. Wait staff very kind and friendly
