The Anniversary Inn - Fifth South

My wife and I have visited this location three times, but unfortunately, we noticed a decline in quality during our most recent stay. We stayed in the New York, New York suite. The fireplace and TV were not operational, and the light switches counterintuitively controlled other levels of the suite (e.g. the switch next to the bed controlled the downstairs light, rather than the bedroom light). The shower took an unusually long time to heat up (10+ minutes) and the food quality did not meet our expectations. Additionally, there was no water provided in the room, though it was available downstairs for $2. The inclusion of a DVD player also felt outdated. Unfortunately, I’m not sure if we will return in the future.

It was my first time staying here. I heard about it through friends and it was extremely affordable for what you get. It was a fun experience and looking forward to coming back to see the other rooms in the future

The Inn is a really cool concept with themed rooms, everyone different and unique. I started my stay in the phantom of the opera room which was really cool upon arrival. However the bed was the worst bed I’d ever slept on and even though it’s listed as a queen it seemed incredibly small. Shower diverter did not work correctly so showers were kind of a pain. After the second night I asked if I could pay for an upgrade. It literally took almost 24 hours for the hotel to do that. The second room was much better and I was thankful the hotel staff found a way to let me pay for an upgrade. It was just frustrating that it took 3-4 people, a manager and several front desk visits to finally get it. Other than that the place was a really nice change from the run of the mill hotel chains out there.

Absolutely terrible! We arrived in SLC in the early afternoon but they wouldn’t allow early check in… 5 pm is a ridiculously late check in. The themes seemed cute, but the room was dirty, getting in and out of the tub/shower was a straight up hazard, and the bed was hard as a rock. We did not sleep well at all. The idea seems good but don’t waste your money!
