The Avalon Hotel in Catalina Island

A great place to stay on Catalina for yhe weekend.

Breakfast. Slightly dated. Boyfriend kept hurting and jamming his fingers while holding the rail to climb the stairs to climb to our 2nd floor room. A bit of a hazard since no lift offered.

No view. A little farther to walk hauling luggage.

We recently stayed at the Avalon Hotel on Catalina Island for a short but delightful getaway. Overall, it was a charming boutique experience. The room was spotless, the location was fantastic, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. We’d definitely recommend it, and we’re looking forward to returning!

We do have a couple of minor suggestions for improvement: the shower water pressure could be a bit stronger, and the breakfast could benefit from a bit more variety—maybe adding some fresh vegetables or a few extra options. But these are just small notes on an otherwise wonderful stay.

Very clean and a great location!

It is a very nice little hotel. Close to the boardwalk but not right on it.

Great location and warm hospitality. Only downside is that there is no elevator to access Front Desk and rooms but hourly provides assistance for heavier luggage(s).

Great staff. Very accommodating and friendly. Tips for local eats. Would definitely recommend!
