"Historic hotel "

8.0

Great that you can bring your dog with you, and there is a $20 pet fee. I used Expedia to book the hotel and it stated that continental breakfast was included. The receptionist said that it should not state that because it is not included, but she gave us a 15% discount on the breakfast. We decided not to make use of this. The hotel is old and the floors creak a lot, but you are supplied with ear plugs in the room! The quality of the food was exceptional. We had dinner in the saloon (your dog can join!). We enjoyed our stay a lot, but it would have been appreciated if we were offered a complimentary breakfast.

"Perfect place to disconnect."

10.0

A step into the past and the perfect place to disconnect and recharge. Staff was friendly, room/bath clean and the restaurant and bar had excellent breakfast.

"Moke Hill Music Festival visit"

8.0

I stayed at this lovely hotel because I was playing in the Moke Hill Music Festival, conveniently located right across the street. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was fine. It is a historic hotel, so the walls are thin and the floors are creaky, but that's just part of the charm.

"Authentic old west hotel "

8.0

We enjoyed how well the staff has maintained this old hotel, it had everything we need even ghosts. If you are looking for a quiet room do not stay in the rooms above the bar, it gets very loud in the evenings. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the grounds are extremely nice, the hotel is in as good of shape as you could expect for the age, the rooms underneath the hotel were interesting and in a way creepy (not in a bad way, just in a ghost eerie way). The restaurant was very good for dinner, and the continental breakfast was above average.

"Nope"

If I rent a hotel room, I expect a bathroom that adjoins it not have to go into the hallway & pay extra for a non sharing bathroom!

"creepy and very cool"

10.0

we stayed in room 2 right above the bar that had a live band playing (Saturday night). wasn't too bad as we were at the bar listening most of the night and turned in about 12:30. about 3 am my gf woke up and saw the shutters next to the bed open and push the drape back. the noise woke me also and I looked over and said "oh, I thought I opened the window" and so I opened the window and fell back to sleep. she put her head under the covers and it took her an hour to fall back asleep. that was the only strange thing that happened to us at this haunted hotel...

"Another great historic & haunted hotel"

10.0

I have stayed at the Hotel Leger in Mokelumne Hill, CA many times over the years and I've always enjoyed it. This trip was no expception. Every one connected with the hotel is friendly & helpful. I would suggest staying here on Thursdays thru Sundays so you can take advantage of the fine restaurant and bar. The new owners have taken to a restoration project since my last visit and it's beginning to show. I think I would have preferred my usual room (George Leger's room) but I registered late and the room was taken by members of a paranormal investigation team that was spending the weekend at the hotel. Some guests have had some wild experiences with the ghosts that haunt this place, but my experiences have always been pleasant. I guess the ghosts like me!

"Much better the second time around"

6.0

We stayed here a year and a half ago, and said we would never go back. It is under new management now and a sentimental place for us since we got engaged there. We decided to give it a second try for our honeymoon. It was definitely much better this time around. We called in advance to confirm our room, they gave us a different room than the one we reserved on Expedia. I spoke with the manager and got it fixed, and put in our requested room. The staff was very pleasant. The continental breakfast is also a nice touch. I rated room comfort at a 2 because the bed was next to impossible to sleep in. I know the hotel is old, but I think they should be able to update the mattresses. They were so uncomfortable that we woke up very sore both nights. Other than the mattresses, everything about this stay was 100 times better than our previous stay.
