The Genevieve

Wonderful boutique inn situated in the heart of Santa Ynez, within easy walking distance of a number of good restaurants, shops and wine tasting rooms, and a short drive to numerous wineries. The hotel and grounds are maintained immaculately, with very comfortable rooms and large well equipment bathroom. Our room (luxe king) included a fireplace and small balcony. Cooked-to-order breakfast and cold buffet was excellent. We enjoyed the wine reception on 2 of our 3 nights, though there was only a choice of 1 white and 1 red wine. A large selection of cheese and crackers was also provided each night. Overall a very enjoyable and relaxing stay in the heart of the Santa Ynez Valley. We will definitely return to The Genevieve.

This is a special place. Santa Ynez is a nice little village and low key so this place fits right in. Very nice rooms and very unique. The Victor restaurant is outstanding and all meals we had were perfect. Nice place just to hang out and the garden with the fire pits at night is very relaxing.

Loved the architecture of the building, room in the pictures did not match with what we had.

Honest review: Although the hotel and grounds are absolutely beautiful, FOR THE ROOM RATE, the rooms sorely need an update. The old carpeting and tv need to be replaced, and the bedding wasn't great. The staff was lovely, and The Victor being on the grounds were the highlights, as well as the walkable locale. For the price, however, we would not book here again, opting for Hotel Ynez, which is slightly less in price, but much better as far as amenities. We would love to try again if there are some future updates.

Stayed in King Luxe, Premises were very nice, as was the hotel itself. Only disappointment was the food service. They have a big dining room with a roaring fire, but really two choices on menu, and the sandwich was quite lacking. Whatever the Victor is supposed to be, ultimately meals were at Olsen's in Solvang in the mornings, and SY Kitchen for dinner. Would still definitely go back to stay.

Wonderful property. Incredible stay, great service, very elegant room and the breakfast was very delicious. Close to wineries and great places to eat. Highly recommend this boutique bed and breakfast.

The room was beautiful! The staff members could use some training on being “hosts” since this is an Hotel not a Motel 6. They were not rude just not warm and welcoming. The breakfast was again substandard for a Hotel.

1st class boutique hotel reminiscent of bygone era. Christmas decorations festive but tasteful. Bedroom extremely comfortable. Onsite restaurant with remarkable delicious meal & cocktails.
