Seaview Patong Hotel

The hotel is ok. But you wouldn’t want to stay too long. We booked this hotel for 3 weeks whilst we were in Thailand and we knew it was always just going to be a base and travel around. However our plan was to be there 5 days, move on and come back for the last week. We left after 2 days because of a bug situation in the room and a damp smell that wouldn’t shift. The room was being cleaned each day but it wasn’t fixing those 2 issues. What I will say is our first day and greeting was amazing. I informed them it was for my partner birthday and the room and time and effort gone into decorating the room was so wonderful it really started the trip off on a high and I was very grateful for this. I did pay for this extra before we arrived but it was still more than I could have imagined so was very pleased. We got the sea view room over looking the pool and the street leading on to the sea. It’s very loud at night. The street is so busy during the day and evening you’re better walking to places than getting a taxi as you’ll just be stuck in traffic . We had to add on 30 minutes to any journey because of the traffic in that location. So bare that in mind for any travelling / reservations you may have. Staff were very friendly and accommodating but unfortunately the bug issue could not be kept under control and when we returned for our last week it was awful. We still had our room cleaned each day but it was not getting better. We complained to our travel agent who then even reimbursed for some of the inconvenience only a small amount but it then paid for us to use a different hotel for our 2 remaining nights because we were unable to sleep. The bugs were going in our bed and ok our bodies. Pool was lovely. Food was great and reasonably priced but great restaurants up the road cheaper. I do hate to leave any negative reviews and like I said- staff were great. It’s just unfortunately the bug situation was not getting resolved and the smell of damp was too strong. Very outdated

Staff especially the manger at the front desk with slight curly hair. For some reason despite booking 4 to 5 months in advance they refused to provide a balcony room and seems all of the balcony rooms were earmarked for humans from Europe and the states. To confirm price are the same. Will never recommend this property to anyone

This hotel was part of a package we booked with the Travel Centre. I did my homework on all the places we stayed and I got this one very wrong. We were meant to stay for 4 nights. We were shown to our room 242 and immediately there was a smell of damp. Then we saw the dehumidifier in the corner of the room, full of water. Now the walk to the room was a very early indicator, the smell was atrocious, fish or urine we couldn't agree which. And the noise from the traffic into the early hours, didn't help that the windows and doors didn't fit properly. We gritted our teeth and stayed for 1 night. The following morning we checked out, we had booked our remaining days at the Centara Grand, such a good choice.

Rooms very dark and basic, food ok, very tired and in need of renovation, bathroom tiny with shower over the bath, sunbeds are not like the photo, they care plastic and not very comfortable at all.

For the money it's not a bad hotel with a good location and friendly staff! We had a poolside room which smelt a little musty and was quite noisy from the busy road! For the money it was OK but you can get better for not a lot more!
