The Bentley Inn

My husband and I decided to see what was available in Bay Head Beach New Jersey on our way home from visiting family in Maryland. The Bentley Inn came up. We arrived a solid two hours early and the owner Glen was there to greet us.Glenn could not have been more friendly. He kindly allowed us to check in early so that we could get out to the beach. Glenn and his staff of sweet and enthusiastic girls showed us the various room options both with and without a private bath. The rooms all have a window unit for air conditioning. Glenn has thought of everything to make your stay smooth- beach badges, chairs, towels. Etc. there are two very spacious and well equipped outdoor showers which we found refreshing and used instead of indoor. Breakfast is served each morning including a daily special omelette along with plenty of other choices from 8:30-10. The French toast is to die for! The beach is a very short walk from the Inn. It’s beautifully kept, clean and is not crowded. Beware- they do not allow any coolers or food at all. Just water in a bottle. This our only disappointment as we like to have a dinner picnic on the beach in the evening. So, instead, we went to Joe Leone’s (2 miles away) and picked up a delicious assortment of foods along with a bottle of wine and we sat upstairs on the Inn’s porch. There we enjoyed a cool breeze and watched the rest of the beach sit in traffic to get to their reservations. This was a lovely experience for us. Thank you Glenn and staff!

Classic turn- of -the -century beach hotel with ocean views and wrap-around porches and balconies. Wonderful hearty breakfasts. Pleasant and helpful host. Free parking. Just far enough south of the very busy Point Pleasant to be relaxing with uncrowded beaches. Just delightful.

Wonderful old B & B in a great location for a short walk to the beach and two minutes from shopping and restaurants. Owner couldn't have been any more accommodating than what he was. Great home cooked breakfast and wonderful staff that made sure we had everything we needed. Only negative was the shared bathrooms that some rooms had to use. We requested a private bath but when we arrived that wasn't the case. The error wasn't made by the Bentley Inn as we found out, because my wife thought she was talking to the manager of the Inn when we did the reservation but it was a representative from Hotels.com. Just make sure of what you're getting when you make the reservations. I would definitely return there if making another trip to the area.

Host Glen was very personable and nice to chat with. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and we loved the second floor wrap around balcony. Breakfast was good, breads were delicious. We would go back!

The morning breakfast was made to order not just buffet. We could use the facilities after checking out...restroom and foot showers.

Beach setting inside . Friendly staff. Only down fall is shared bathroom. Food was great .

Very quaint and comfortable room. Tom was wonderful and breakfast was delicious. Bathroom could use some improvement. Shower had no pressure and shower head was useless. We didn't spend any time watching tv, but they should spend some money on updated ones. It was laughable.

Property is dated, but very clean. Comfortable bed, cleanest linens ever, decor is very tasteful. AC unit in each room. Breakfast is Great.
