Dreams Huatulco Resort & Spa - All Inclusive

Nice Resort, Nice Staff, Sandy at the Preferred Beach area is amazing and very attentive. Everthing is very close, lots of pools. The only negative is I thought the quality of the food could be better, I’ve been to a Dreams resort in the Maya Rivera and it’s much better.

In Preferred Club: Cristina, Graciela and Judith are always so wonderful. No matter how many guests are in there, they make everyone feel at home. They make sure you have everything you need and then some. They are all so pleasant and professional. They truly care about what they do, and it shows. Guests who have been coming there for years absolutely love them. Genaro and Sergio made sure to bring us our late afternoon snacks promptly and with so much care. They made sure we had everything we needed and asked for. We miss Genaro in the Preferred Club. He was also so wonderful when he worked there. Julio always made sure we had all we needed at dinner. He along with the rest of the staff run things so smoothly and with such delight. They make our dinners extra special. We all love the show that comes with delicious coffee at the end. Our stay is always amazing and so hard to leave and go home. Can't wait to come back!!

We attended a friends wedding in November 2025 and were very much looking forward to the quality that we would expect from at Hyatt resort. The resort is on a lovely beach and close to town and the airport. Staff was welcoming and friendly. Sadly the food was underwhelming overall. We tried both the buffet restaurants as well as one of the à la carte restaurants. Both were unsatisfactory so we opted to go out for 5/7 dinners while we were there. The rooms were clean and offered everything we needed however they are dated and need some refurbishment.

Our very first visit to Mexico was memorable because of Dreams in Huatulco! The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The amenities were amazing we will definitely be back!

Excellent experience. We have tried secrets and dreams now. We were unsure if the kids would make a difference in peacefulness but if anything it added to the fun atmosphere. Would choose dreams again over secrets. The room was nice, spacious, cool and cleaned well everyday. The beach was beautiful with a few rocky parts to snorkel and boueys to mark how far you’re allowed to swim out. They had water sports and beach activities daily. A few people wandering the beach selling things but all were polite. You can pay extra for jet skis or a fishing charter from the beach as well. Occasionally they’ll offer you drinks at the beach but more so at the pools. I am gluten free, severe celiac and was safe while eating at the resort as well as in town. We tried all the restaurants except one. The Mexican restaurant was my favourite as well as the buffet. Room service was excellent for accommodating gluten free as well. Also huge shout out to the buffet managers and staff who would show me what food I can and can’t eat each meal. As well as offer anything I requested not seen in the buffet and even surprising me with gluten free desserts I didn’t know they had. Highly recommend taking a taxi into town to try some food, see the culture and shop. The locals do not bother you to buy like I have found in many other places, a simple no and they won’t ask again for the most part. Very refreshing.

Dreams is located in a quiet bay along with three other resorts. It is across the street from a small community with shops, restaurants and condos. The trip from the airport is a 20/30 min shuttle ride. There are lovely bays and communties along this coast that are just a taxi ride away. The resort has six pools, three are infinity pools looking over the ocean, two are for smaller children (one has mini lounge chairs) and one is an adult only pool tucked away in a quiet zone. The beach is walkable and the ocean is swimmable. The lifeguards rate the temperament of the ocean with flags every morning. The restaurants are plenty and change things up nightly due to the accommodation of events. There is always great food available. The rooms are spacious and cleaned daily. Our room was on the first floor. It had a large glass sliding door opening onto a patio with direct access to the quiet pool. The entertainment team work all day and into the night. There is aqua fit, archery, Spanish lessons, painting, volleyball, pickleball, kayaks, sailing, paddle boarding, snorkelling, a spa, a gym, yoga classes, dancing lessons and more! Staff members who I had wonderful interactions with are entertainment team members: Nadz, Alnair, Luiz and Nef. The waiting staff in the Japanese restaurant were very professional and maybe you will see the Fireman pouring the flaming Zambuca. The service at the World Cafe was excellent with hostess Fabiola always greeting us with a warm smile and Brenda serving and taking time to chat. Really though all staff were hard working and cheerful. This is a wonderful resort, I felt welcomed and very safe throughout our two weeks stay.

My husband and I spent 2 weeks here, the first week just the 2 of us and the second week our daughter, son-in-law and baby met us. Here's the good and the not-so-good: Good: The employees are amazing, every one of them. So incredibly hardworking and always a smile on their faces. Please tip generously, they deserve it. The pools are fabulous. Six of them to choose from depending on what type of day you're looking for. Adult Only quiet, Adult Only party, Lots of Family pools. Not-so-good: The restaurants and buffet are ok. I've seen better at other Dreams locations. You won't starve but you won't come home raving about it either. The Garden Wedding venue/location is directly outside Building 2. My daughter arrived on the Saturday and they really needed a good sleep after a 12 hour travel day with a 9-month old. Sadly, there was a wedding RIGHT OUTSIDE their patio door with a mariachi band, trumpets, tuba, trombone playing until 11:00PM. The noise level in their room was absolutely deafening. Everyone staying in Building 2 (and some parts of Building 1) were complaining that night and next day. I've never seen anything like that. They had to move over to Building 4 a few nights later when we saw them setting up for another wedding. In general, this hotel is very dated and does not live up to the Hyatt Dreams brand. I've stayed at quite a few and, unfortunately, we will not return to this one. Everyone has their own experiences. This was ours.

⭐️ Overall: Great Service, Location & Vibe — But Poor Food & the Facilities Need Update Summary: We had a lovely stay thanks to the fantastic staff and beautiful beach, but the experience was significantly diminished by the mediocre food and the dated condition of the resort. 👍 The Positives (What We Loved) Exceptional Staff & Service: The staff truly are the highlight—they were fantastic, professional, and very service-oriented. Prime Location: Great location with a good, clean beach. Safety & Comfort: We felt very comfortable and safe walking outside the resort property. Relaxing Pool Ambiance: The poolside atmosphere was excellent. The music was kept at a subtle, quiet background volume rather than being played loudly, which we appreciated. Cleanliness: Both the resort and our room were consistently clean. 👎 The Negatives (Areas for Improvement) Poor Food Quality: The food was the biggest disappointment. It was mediocre and generally not very tasty. Poor Value for All-Inclusive: Given the low quality of the dining experience, the all-inclusive package did not feel like good value. Tired & Aging Facilities: The resort is visibly showing its age and urgently needs updates. The property looks and feels tired.

The food is mediocre, and not great selection. Today no egg benefits and got an omelet with egg shells. No access to nice pieces of Oaxaca cheese. Why travel to Oaxaca if you cannot get some of this lovely cheese easily? Here now and was trying to connect to hospitality manager but no success to address the concerns . Not sure what’s going on but all drinks are not tasty… Food and drinks are below overall mexican all-inclusive standards, let alone Dreams. Poor tasting drinks in each and every bar :( And hit and miss food quality and selection. Most things are tasteless, and Mexican dinner yesterday (Saturday) felt like recycled food from the wedding day before :(
