Plaza Pelicanos Club Beach Resort All Inclusive

We booked an oceanview studio at Plaza Pelicanos through Shell Vacations Club 9 months in advance. When we arrived they didn't explain that we would be put in an alternate room. When I saw the room I went back to the front desk. They said a partial oceanview was the only unit available. I called Shell Vacations Club and was told that this type of thing happens at Plaza Pelicanos and it is out of Shell's control. We were also disappointed that the hottubs on the rooftop are closed. Plaza Pelicanos have you sign to acknowledge that towels saving lounge chairs will be removed after 45 minutes. That never happens and there aren't enough chairs. Why do people save a lounge chair all day long if they're not going to use it for even an hour of the day? Shouldn't we share? The facilities are clean and the bar waiters are friendly.

There are 3 resorts in a row, all owned by the same group. Two with similar names on each side of one, (Sunset?) which is currently under expansion. Plaza Pelicanos Grand and Plaza Pelicanos Beach Club are NOT the same resort. This is a review of the Plaza Pelicanos Beach Club. PP Beach Club will be demolished to continue the expansion of the middle resort. This background is important to understand in this review. PP Beach Club has a beautiful location with 2 pools. One pool is beside the beach and has a bar, snack bar, and area for shows. The rooms, another pool and diningroom are across a street from the beach/other pool area. Because this section of the resort will be torn down, the maintenance is subpar. Light fixtures are literally not attached to the wall, bulbs are burnt out, shower sprays over entire bathroom, and air conditioning is set at cold (no matter the setting). I'm not joking when i say i slept in my winter coat! There is no lockbox for valuabes in the room unless you ask to have it installed for your stay. The food was horrible. If you're coming to Mexico for the food, look elsewhere. Drinks were fine, pool area by the beach was very nice but the snack bar was also not good. Hamburgers and hotdogs and fries. Rarely even tortilla chips... that's a staple in my opinion. If you get a great price, it might be worth it for location alone but if you have expectations of the basic Mexican resort experience, you will be disappointed.

La ubicación es muy buena, está muy cerca deo aeropuerto y una de las piscinas está al pie de la playa. Prácticamente todo el día hay comida disponible, con variedad adecuada.

No sirve el WiFi, las almohadas son algo incómodas y solo uno de los edificios da a la playa, pero no dan posibilidad de seleccionar habitación en ese edificio.

I liked my room as I was on the ground floor facing the pool. The bed was comfy. The food was ok. The housekeeping staff were very nice. And most staff were good. The men were kinder then the woman.

The cockroch in my bathtub. The woman at the front desk was extremely rude. It was difficult to find someone that could speak English. Although it said there was room service there was not. I was ill and wanted to eat in my room. I was told by the woman at the restaurant I wasn't allowed to take the food to my room. When I asked one of the males servers he said sure and got me a plastic plate.

The property is really rundown not enough washroom cafeteria is the only place to eat and it’s got no atmosphere. It’s boring and the food is not that great. The advertise with entertainment it’s completely false I have been to Mexico many times at a lot of different places that was by far the worst I will never go back to that place And on top of it for the first time in 30 years, I got so sick, food poisoning Also, at the pool the way they wash the glasses it’s not sterile. It’s gross. The place is not worth it a visit
