Fireside Inn & Suites Gilford

Comfortable room - with twin queen beds - and good shower. Gym and pool also good (and quiet). And the recommendation of Patricks bar/restaurant - which is walkable - a great shout.

It a bit bland - but you cant ell that from the photos. Breakfast-to-go basic but better than nothing. (toast and cereals available as well as frozen breakfast sandwiches whatever they were :-) )

The property is showing its age thus requires thorough upgrading in physical appearance (wall, carpet, paints, etc.) to make it more attractive.

Staff were friendly. Room was clean and beds comfortable. Bathroom an awkward layout but clean.

1. No housekeeping for the second day we were there. We were not told that when we checked in. I had to go to the reception desk with the used breakfast tray etc. only to find out that I would have to get coffee pods and clean towels from the staff there -- and they had to hunt for the pods. What did other people do? 2. Inadequate breakfast and breakfast facilities. For $250/night I would like something other than Jimmy Dean frozen breakfast sandwiches, chocolate chip muffins (does anyone actually eat those things?), camp fruit cups. No protean, no fresh fruit. And then to take it back to the room using the only elevator in the complex.

Room was clean and a good size with 2 queen beds. Linens were clean and towels seemed clean. The female staff were courteous, friendly, and helpful. The one male 20s-30s with black hair was not so. Lots of parking. Plenty of grab and go food and snacks. Location is a few minutes drive from town.

The bathroom could use an update. The laminate top had bubbles and seemed to be glued together using plaster. The cabinets seemed like they were original from when the place was built and painted over several times. The plunger was in a stand that was broken. The room’s carpet also seemed original, was faded, and had a musty smell. The desk had a 2 inch chip that showed all of the layers of construction including the laminate top.

Beautiful facilities, very comfortable bed, excellent staff

The cost of a room was extremely inflated for the Columbus Day weekend - just about $500 - but no other rooms in the area so little choice .
