Pousada de Angra do Heroismo - Forte Sao Sebastiao

Foi um caso de amor à primeira vista; quando vi a Pousada São Sebastião em Hotéis.com não tive dúvidas. A refinada harmonia e o equilíbrio entre a arquitetura da fortaleza histórica e o design desse lindo hotel em seu interior despertam os sentidos da perfeição. Aqui funcionam também o Restaurante Castelinho e o Bar C, ambos abertos ao público. Os quartos são confortáveis, limpíssimos, o café da manhã é saboroso, com produtos locais, o staff é cordial, eficiente e amigo e a vista para o mar é magnífica. Tudo aqui combina com a belíssima Angra do Heroismo e a Terceira. Para voltar sempre, anexo fotos.

Recepcionista Cátia Sousa 5*, muito simpática (ao contrário de muitos açoreanos inclusivé da pessoa que nos fez o check-out) que sempre nos ajudou durante toda a estadia. Pousada inserida num forte, a única coisa negativa e que não tinha cama de casal e sim duas individuais.

This hotel was incredible and we loved our stay here! It's built into an old historic fort which is very cool. It also has free parking and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

THE GOOD: 눇It's a beautiful property, and it's fun to stay in an old fort with such character. The staff was amazing, the WiFi is fast, parking is easy, and the breakfast buffet was excellent. THE BAD: In the older building where I stayed, there was no lift; it wasn't easy to lug my 50-pound suitcase up those stairs. The staff left me a fruit tray in my room--a nice gesture, but I honestly have no idea how long it had been there, and in the heat the entire room reeked of fruit. The bathroom window could not be completely shut and there was no screen, so my room had several flying insects in it. The bed was stiff and rickety. Also, the hotel is on a hill. Walking to town is pretty easy because it's mostly downhill, but walking back up is a little strenuous. There is a "bar" but it's not continually staffed--the bartender also works in the restaurant across the way. There is a pool but it was not heated. I could have forgiven all of these things, but not this one: the water heater took up to 10 minutes to warm the water. I was told this is "normal" because the heater is on the other side of the property, and if you were the first one to shower in the morning (or late in the evening), you had to wait. I gave up on two occasions trying to take a shower because I was in a hurry. There must be better hotels to stay in Angra, but be sure to walk around the fort property because it's a sight by itself.

Hats off to the cleaning stuff. Every day we left clothes and things all over the room and every day we come back from our outing, things are all nicely tidied up and clothes folded. We haven’t had that kind of service for a long time. Front desk stuff is very friendly.
