Rocking Horse Inn

We love this place. The Rocking Horse Inn makes you feel at home. We have been there twice and will probably come back.

The individual entry code was very easy to use coming and going. The very unique time period of this Inn was inviting and almost like time travel at times! The generous 24 hr available snack and food items were most welcome! But above all the host Bob is an extremely pleasant and kind person! I had an overwhelming sense of peace while staying here.

All bedrooms are unique

We stayed for one night at the Rocking Horse Inn after going to a concert in Kent. The inn was very quiet; I think we were the only ones staying there that night. We particularly liked the front and side porches, gardens, the antique rocking horses in every room, and the other antiques throughout the inn. The breakfast, while self-serve, was very well organized in the beautiful dining room, and the host provided a variety and abundance of food options. We particularly liked the bowl of fresh berries. Our room and bed were comfortable. The bathroom was tiny but adequate. My only complaint is that the carpet had several stains and needed either a deep cleaning or replacing. However, in an old house, there is always something that needs updating. We enjoyed our stay!

Endearing house. Generous snack options. Tub set up is awkward—can’t turn on shower and shampoo and soap dispensers out of reach once you’re sitting in the tub. Comfortable bed. Quiet room.

Love staying here. The host is super kind. The place is charming and peaceful.

I read the reviews and decided to book...I am not sure I was at the same place. I am not able to upload the pictures I took. The weeds outside over took everything. The place is very run down. The stains on the bedroom carpet were kind of gross. No one mentioned the trains blowing their whistles all hours of the night. The bathroom towels looked like they were rags. I went to make raisin bread however it expired in May. Bob was very nice on the phone but we were there alone as Bob was out of town. I am not sure of the opinions of the other reviewers but my experience was very different.

The inside of the home was beautiful and felt like stepping back in time. The continental breakfast was very nice with many choices each morning. I'm 6'4'' and the shower was wonderful.

We loved our stay! Though short, the property was clean, beautiful, and the host was wonderful. The place has a ton of charm and a lot of small details that I noticed despite arriving very late after a road trip. We were provided a wonderful breakfast and pleasant conversation as we checked out. We will absolutely stay again if we're ever in the area.

This was such a fun experience! We stayed for 3 nights. The rooms are very clean and decorated Victorian style. Was a neat and fun experience. Bob the Inn keeper was the best host! Will be back again next time we are in that area!
