Hyatt Centric MG Road Bangalore

My experience at Hyatt Centric MG Road Bengaluru was extremely disappointing, especially considering that it happened on my birthday. As a fellow hotelier, I understand the importance of guest communication, service standards, and operational procedures. That is why this experience was particularly frustrating. I had booked a day-use stay through the central reservation team. At no point during the booking process was I informed whether the room allocated to me was a smoking or non-smoking room. Due to this lack of communication, I smoked in the room and was later charged. The issue is not the charge itself, but the failure to provide clear information that could have easily prevented the situation. The inconsistency continued when I went to the main porch area to smoke. Before lighting my cigarette, I asked a staff member near the entrance twice whether smoking was permitted there, and I was told that it was. However, immediately after lighting the cigarette, another staff member approached me and informed me that smoking was not allowed in that area. Such contradictory information reflects poor coordination and communication among the team. What disappointed me further was the attitude of some staff members, which came across as rude and unprofessional. Hospitality is about creating a seamless and welcoming experience for guests, and unfortunately, that was not the case during my stay. As someone who works in the hospitality industry, I appreciate that mistakes can happen. However, clear communication, proper staff coordination, and professional guest handling are basic expectations at any hotel, especially from a reputed brand. Sadly, what was meant to be a relaxing birthday stay turned into an unpleasant experience. This was my first visit to Hyatt Centric MG Road Bengaluru, and based on this experience, it will most likely be my last.

The hotel location is excellent. Food is good. room is small. but very clean room. Amenities are good. Overall good hotel to stay.
