The only positive was the cleaning ladies were nice.

No front desk staff, no manager on duty. I checked in on 2/27 in room 325 Microtel Walterboro. Around 3:45 am the smoke alarm started going off. Not the low battery chirp but full alarm. It would intermittently cut on and off. I called the front desk and the man told me that nothing was going off down there and to call again if it happened. So I did after 3 or 4 calls. He came to the room and replaced a battery but the alarm continued intermittently going off, by this time it was almost 5 am and my 2 year old was awakened by all the commotion. I tried to talk to someone at the hotel this morning at check out and there was no desk clerk, or manager. The only employees were 2 cleaning ladies who were wonderful by the way. One called the manager and she was extremely rude and unprofessional at one point stating "its not my problem things like this happen". I have also tried to contact the owner to no success.

"Would stay here again rather than the Hampton Inn"

Nice location across from the Hampton Inn. About one half the price and very clean, safe, and comfortable.

The charge for a pet was a bit unclear. Not a high cost but they should charge one price and discount it if you are assigned one of their designated pet rooms.
