St Croix Inn Solon Springs

We had a very good experience. Rooms were well appointed, clean and staff friendly.

We’ve been making a 5 hour drive to Duluth frequently and the Saint Croix in is a great place to stay on the way. Less than an hour from Duluth, it is more affordable than lodging in Duluth. I can’t comment on what it is like in summer, but in winter it is very quiet. It is on a quiet, tucked-away street. We had a trailer full of stuff since we’re moving and none of it was touched overnight in the parking lot. They have regular construction workers that stay so we request lakeside for $10 more (the guys op for the less expensive side) and a second floor room and we never hear anyone. The beds are comfortable. The lobby area, bar, and breakfast area are really cozy. My favorite part is that there is no TV in the breakfast area. Most peaceful hotel breakfast ever. Our only complaint is that they no longer offer an IPA in the bar.

I liked how close the property was to the North Country Trail. I hope to come back in warmer weather so I can kayak on the lake!

Beautiful view of the water, but our room window was filthy inside and outside. Room not carpeted, and there was dirt all over the floor. Friendly staff, comfortable bed, clean linens, breakfast included and some warm food options.

I liked the breakfast.

Can’t wait to come back again!

The hotel was a little tired. The service was a little slow but the lake was awesome. Worth it for a night or 2
