"Mixed experience"

6.0

This was our first visit here. The Lodge is beautiful. The smell of tamarack burning in the fire places and outdoor fire pit was awesome. The dinner in the bar was delicious. Great service. Kodiak was super helpful one morning as it was chilly out and drizzly and was willing to start the fire pits on bar deck for ice to enjoy our coffees at. Even went and got towels to dry off the ice. He was super friendly and helpful. However, our check in is what made it not a great experience. Upon checking in, we went up to our room on the second floor, only to open it to see other people were already living there. Thankfully no one was "home" and not interrupt anyone, but it made us VERY uncomfortable to know we had entered someone else's room. And could that happen to us?? And when I went down to front desk to address this, Cole the front desk manager was barely apologetic to the situation happening. All he said was oh, I am sorry about that. You should be the next floor up. Your card was entered wrong. No real sincerity in the apology, no offering anything to compensate the uncomfortable situation and lack of trust and care that now my stay is in question of safety. When I checked out two days later, the lady that checked us out asked how our stay was and I explained what happened and she was MUCH more apologetic and offered us a complimentary breakfast voucher if we were willing to extend our stay another night. Nice offer but not on the day we were leaving. Left a bad taste in our mouth for our first time staying here.

"Easter Brunch a rip off"

2.0

Probably the worst Easter Brunch at $75 a head I have ever been to. The brunch website shows a cornucopia of fresh fruit with the reality being a small bowl of chopped up melon, pineapple, strawberries, and blueberries. The only seafood offered was overcooked salmon. At least the omelettes were fresh, but the only egg offering available. The service was abysmally slow. It took 20 minutes for our coffee orders to arrive. The dessert offerings were both minimal and sad. Then to top it all off, in addition to the overpriced buffet, the hotel charges three additional charges over and above the gratuity. A Resort tax, +2 other supposedly voluntary charges which they don’t tell you about. The bill for eight people was close to $700.

"Gorgeous property"

10.0

Scenic classic Montana lodge experience with a beautiful lakeside setting is its biggest strength. The resort features a full service spa, multiple pools (including indoor and lakefront options), and a well equipped fitness center, giving it a well rounded wellness offering, while on site dining like the Boat Club Restaurant has a great atmosphere and great quality. The rooms and certain common areas feel dated and not always aligned with the premium pricing. Service is often friendly but can be inconsistent, and maintenance or housekeeping issues occasionally came up. Overall, it’s a picturesque, amenity rich resort ideal for a relaxed, outdoors focused stay, though it falls slightly short of delivering a fully modern luxury experience. Would return again and again.

"Inviting stay with great staff and amenities"

10.0

The lodge itself is very nice. The staff could not be any more welcoming and kind. Shuttles to to town and the mountain are a key asset. I used the outdoor hot tub every night and had s’more’s too.

This property is outstanding. The restaurant is superb. The room was spacious.

I feel the price is a little steep, but it is a luxury property.

"DISTRICT MANAGER PLEASE READ—MAJOR ISSUES AT YOUR HOTEL"

4.0

We arrived on 1/24 On 1/25 we went to the hotel restaurant for breakfast. Only about 4 families were seated for breakfast. Waitress came by and we asked for coffee and a latte and placed our order. After 20 min I went searching for the waitress, because we never received our coffee and latte. She wasn’t around. I went to the hostess stand to let hostess know we did not receive our coffee or our latte. The hostess filled our coffee but did not bring cream. I went and got it myself. After 30 min had to go to the hostess stand to remind about my latte. At 45 min, I went back to the hostess stand to cancel our breakfast because we were going to be late for our outing and was then informed it would be up in a minute. Our waitress delivered it tepid and overcooked with a weak apology about being the only one here. She offered nothing for our trouble. We were LATE for our outing. When we came back from our outing, we found that housekeeping had not touched our room. This would be a CONSTANT issue during our stay. The housekeeper said “oh, I don’t have anyone listed in 327”. We had to delay our dinner plan to wait for housekeeping to ensure they would actually take care of our room and our requests. After dinner we went to the the hot tub and sauna. Most of the hot tub jets DID NOT WORK. One Sauna was out of order and the other had a max temp of 90 degrees. (Later the working sauna would be out of order. They took the heating element from the previously out of order sauna to fix it). Throughout the duration of the stay only one sauna was working. There was ICE around the hot tub, no signs, no salt or traction mats. My 60 year old husband SLIPPED and nearly fell.He caught himself on the railing. When we came back from the hot tub, there was a loud, consistent noise coming from the locked closet door by the kitchen. I sent an email to the front desk with all of the above concerns because no one answered the phone to the front desk. The front desk associate did reply via email that they have passed along our concerns to management. They asked when would be a good time to check the room for the noise. I let them know we would be gone all day the next day (on 1/26) and anytime would be fine. At 7p on 1/26 as we were returning back to the hotel, I realized the lodge staff did not provide an update on the issues regarding hot tub, sauna or the noise in our room. I emailed asking if they could provide updates. At 715p they said “we are checking on this now”. NOW?!? I was told this would be taken care of when we were gone. I stopped by the front desk to understand what was happening. Scott the front desk associate offered to move our room and offered an”upgrade” lake view room and apologized for our trouble. When we went to the new room, the toilet was running and making loud noises. I returned to the desk to let Scott know that we didn’t want a room with toilet issues. He then offered to move us to a 2 bedroom condo but when I returned back to the desk, he told me there would be an upcharge! Really?!? Wow. He said the manager would be in tomorrow morning and I could speak with him. I sent another email at 8400 asking for updates about hot tub and sauna, because not one person addressed this via email or in person, and I was considering going to another hotel. No reply to my email. I let them know I wanted my deposit back and we were going to go somewhere else. I spent the next several hours calling around hotels. Next morning spoke with Howie the manager. Told me he would personally keep me informed about the hot tub. He did not. I had to text again to ask for updates. He said he wanted us to stay and would make it right. He did not. I let him know that if he was offering an upgraded room what was important is the soaking tub and least two beds. He offered a loft with one queen, which means my 6’2” son would be sleeping on a pull out couch. He then offered a 2 bed condos with no tub. Neither of these is an upgrade to me, as the loft had one less bed and there was no soaker tub in the condo. By now we were used to the noise in our room. It became white noise and decided to stay in our room. Plus we were just tired of WASTING OUR TIME ON HOTEL ISSUES. I asked what he could do and I mentioned the front desk had said they could comp one night. He agreed to this. From this point forward, we received sub standard housekeeping services. Our sheets were not changed for 3 days. We had towels and garbage (see attached pics) piled in our room because no one came to clean it. I left a note every day asking for coffee pods, towels, and robes. Every day they either did not service our room at all or forgot one or all of the items I requested. There is something very wrong with the management and service at this hotel. I do not mind paying a higher price for amenities and service, but this hotel was a high price tag and did not deliver on promises. This hotel is not in the service business. This staff should be ashamed of themselves for gross neglect of service, not to mention safety issues and hygiene issues. This was the first vacation we have taken as a family in 18 months, because my husband was undergoing cancer treatment. He is cured now, and this was a celebration trip. Shame, shame on you for making our trip stressful, unpleasant and unsafe.

"Lovely winter stay"

10.0

We had such a wonderful experience at the Lodge. Staff was so kind and we loved all the amenities. The hot tubs and sauna were a must in the cold temps and did not disappoint. Also utilized the Spa and had a wonderful massage . We will definitely be returning! Close to the ski resort too , which is why we’re in town. They have shuttles but didn’t use because we had a car. Beautiful place
