The Morehead Inn

What a lovely property! We thoroughly enjoyed this oasis in Charlotte. The inn was beautiful inside and out. Our room was spacious and furnished with gorgeous antiques. We loved the breakfasts served each day! We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to friends.

For our daughter's wedding the Morehead Inn was the perfect venue. The staff was very communicative about what they would be doing and very accommodating to all of our request. They were present late into the evening and interactive with all the vendors in a seamless manner that took 'almost' all the stress off of an exciting day. A courtyard wedding followed by a patio reception and then dinner in the main living room, dancing in the ballroom followed by a very 'late night' around a large outdoor fire pit with family made for a perfect weekend. The rooms were well equipped, clean and spacious and we received several comments about how tasty the food was. The breakfast each morning was special as well and very filling. The Inn shows the grandeur of a manor home with a few wrinkles but all in all, well attended. Kudos to Chief Engineer Chris, Hannah and all the staff at the Morehead Inn!!

We visited Charlotte for an event at the Spectrum Center. It was great finding a historical BnB in such a great location and one that was pet friendly. We walked to dinner and to the Spectrum Center! That being said would I stay there again…probably not. We had made a reservation for a king, main floor, pet friendly room that did not face the Main Street, in the carriage house. A couple of hours before our arrival were were called and told the door lock was being replaced and would not be finished, so we were being moved. The only pet friendly rooms available were queens. We were between a hard place and a rock. So we accepted the queen room on the main floor. The room actually was 2 rooms. The first room was quite large but had a very strong sweet deodorizing smell. I am assuming this was to cover pet orders that were in the carpet. It was off putting. The second room was the bedroom with attached bathroom. The carpet in both rooms was in need of replacing. It would have been much better to have the original hardwood floor exposed. There are many things that could be done to make both rooms look nicer i.e. replace broken slates on the blinds. The property as a whole looks a bit run down in need of some TLC and other areas just need to be cleaned up. On a positive note: the breakfast staff was very nice and the breakfast very tasty.

Amazing stay! Loved the charm

The rooms are very quaint and we had plenty of privacy. Staff has been very helpful. Property is well kept.

We booked a reservation many months ahead of time for a special occasion, and booked a room with a fireplace specifically. When we arrived, the fireplace was out of order. The room had a very tiny refrigerator (think the size of a glove compartment in a vehicle - seriously). Good thing we brought a cooler. They had also told us when we booked that the room was scheduled for redecorating, but when we arrived the same old, dingy furniture was there, complete with peeling wallpaper. For $200+ per night, I can find much better accommodations elsewhere. Very disappointed.

Last minute changes in our schedule created chaos and needed a place to stay in Charlotte. My favorite B&B in Charlotte as it is home and feels like it when I stay here. Staff, rooms, property and location never dissapoint. Love the finches in the library and always have to say hi to them. Never have enough time to enjoy the property as too busy, however for those wanting to relax this place is perfect. Backyard space, front and plenty of rooms to read, rest or visit. Breakfast english style makes you feel special too. Thanks again for coming to our rescue. PS The Fried Green Tomatoes were amazing. We will see you soon.
