The air conditioner was set too low and made it really cold in our room

We had a funeral at 3:00 and check in is at 3:00. We had a 4 hour drive and called ahead to see if we could check in earlier to be able to change clothes before going to the funeral. We arrived at 2:00 and our room was ready. So grateful

Easy to find right on the highway and easy to get to Itasca and Walker from here! Comfortable beds and linens. Typical hotel breakfast, with a couple hot items, monitored closely by morning desk attendant. Lovely central common area with comfortable seating. Great pool/hot tub area: very clean and bright! Citrus ice water and coffee service always available in the lobby. Inviting outdoor seating area with chairs, a glider and pretty planters. The large tables in the common area were wonderful, stable and attractive. Despite the common area being right outside our room door, the place was very quiet and peaceful.

Since privacy required having the room-darkening drape pulled shut on the room picture window which opened onto the common area, the whole room was constantly low on light. One lamp on the desk and two lamps between the beds were all the light available. Gloomy! The carpet really needs a good deep cleaning, or replacement. There's a dirty dust "ring" around the perimeter of the entire room - obviously the vacuum cleaners don't have edging capabilities. The bathroom is narrow and the tub is almost right up against the toilet. The AC was set in the low-to-mid-60s when we arrived. Freezing! Took almost two of our 4 days to get the room up to 70. Thermostat may be pre-set: it was not responding to adjustments. No shade to make the cute outdoor seating area appealing on a hot day. Not a tree on the property. When I booked, I reserved a "balcony" room. Turns out the balconies are on the second floor facing INDOORS over the common area. NO ELEVATORS to the second floor. We had to be re-located to a first floor room at check-in.

I wish they had had a little bit better coffee, but for the most part, it was OK
