Milkwood Manor on Sea

Beautiful cozy property right by the beach..amazing staff and great food! The hostess was too accommodating and polite as we reached quite late. There is an amazing restaurant cum bar a few steps away on the beach with amazing views and food. Would love to visit there again.

We booked an upstairs sea view room, and had windows on two sides with beautiful views of the beach and lagoon. The room was absolutely spotlessly clean and had a safe. The beach is a minute's walk through the (secure) car park and the receptionist was able to provide beach towels and bags for us to use. There was a lifeguard on the beach which was helpful. They don't seem to offer kayaks any more which is a shame but actually it was a bit windy while we were there anyway. The door was a wee bit thin so we did hear some noise as other guests checked in and came up the stairs. Breakfast very yummy indeed.

We stayed two nights at this lovely hotel set in a glorious setting right on one of the two beaches at Plettenberg Bay. Room was delightful and lovely breakfasts in a superb setting. Easy parking with Plettenberg Bay centre and town beach only 5 minutes drive. We had both evening meals at the Grand Lookout Cafe also on the bay and 10 minutes walk away across the beach (separately reviewed). Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting this lovely area Mike & Linda

Really good. We had 3 nights and ate in their Lemon Grass restaurant twice. That’s fantastic so make sure you use it other than for just breakfast Pay the extra for an upstairs room with balcony. Worth every penny My only slight gripe is bed is a little small compared to others we’ve had in SA but a) don’t let it put you off b) ask for twins and c) it’s very comfy! Other than that all bang on. Great staff. Hearty breakfasts. Spotlessly clean. Secure. Top location. A young fella washes the cars every morning too which is above and beyond Well appointed rooms and bathrooms. Kettle. Safe. TV. A/C. All bases are covered Don’t miss this place if passing through Plett. It’s tremendous

The hotel is on the beach front and the views are excellent BUT.. the room we stayed in was on the first floor and accessed by a bob the builder DIT stair with varying riser height and a couple of doglegs. The poor man who took our 2 suitcases nearly had a hernia. The room was small and the bathroom small too TV reception was poor. The dining room was stark and had no ambience whatsoever.

At check in staff were not friendly and did not explain services No one showed us to our rooms Breakfasts scant and poor Poor service at breakfast We had money stolen from our room whilst we were away at the beach Beach close but Access to beach poor as one has to walk entirely out of the property gate Very long walk to beach Rooms not cleaned properly No porter services offered to us when we checked out They rely on their proximity to the beach but have therefore neglected all other service and offerings Advertised kayaking on lagoon but only one kayak which was not functional Suck a disappointment They didn’t t even appear to be regretful of this or game no indication if it will ever be repaired Our room Above kitchen and could hear rowdy kitchen staff all the time when they were there Overall a very disappointing experience Would never return there and will never recommend

The accommodation is clean and the property seems well managed. The beds were a bit bouncy but beautiful views and quite spacious. The staff were friendly but the service is slow so ensure you are already in holiday mode before you arrive. The breakfast is good.
