Reception staff is excellent, they invested in training . Very friendly and helpful staff it is. Very welcoming and forever happy Restaurant staff is very friendly and breakfast has reasonable options. I will definitely have a date with the front office and restaurant staff 😍 Then the complimentary cookies and water daily by the exit door just amazing and good quality

The cleaning staff hmnnn you feel like you are meeting ghosts in the corridors 5th floor and had 8 horrible nights with this team. Arrogant people, a bunch of clowns who don’t know the game of hospitality is to smile throughout. They are angry at just seeing clients, won’t greet you at all , will pass u in the corridors 5th floor and perhaps push you out of the way with their trolleys. Greeted one of them one day and response was almost on zero volume, had to ask her why she was not happy. . . I give up ! The hotel has to seriously do something or lose its clients because of these housekeepers. On their own they will talking on top of their voices perhaps complaining about guests😂😂😂 would dread to come out of my room , say a little prayer to not meet the “ghosts”

I had a fantastic stay at the Protea Hotel during my first visit to Cape Town. From the start, the experience was smooth, welcoming, and well organized. A special thank you to Sharlene, who went above and beyond to assist with my accommodations and help plan a wonderful stay. Her professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine care made a huge difference and ensured everything was seamless. She truly helped make my first experience in Cape Town memorable. I’d also like to recognize Mihle and the rest of the hotel staff for their friendliness, attentiveness, and consistently excellent service. Everyone made me feel welcomed and well cared for throughout my stay. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cape Town, especially first-time visitors. I would absolutely stay here again.

I liked mostly the view from my room. The atmosphere prevailing very satisfying and the level of respect from fellow travellers very welcoming.
