The Carriage House Inn Newport

Our stay was lovely from beginning to end. The hotel staff was kind and knowledgeable. They had a,recommendation for every type of food we wanted. They were very accommodating and the evening clerk even got ice for us so we wouldn't have to do it. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay there again.

We received a great and informative welcome upon arrival. We got useful recommendations for dinner in this interesting town. Room was large and comfortable. Breakfast choices were perhaps not as extensive to cover all tastes.

Very disappointing, especially for the price. For a two-night stay the bill, including tax, came to $964.57. For that amount I would have expected something much nicer. The first two sets of keys we were given did not work and we had to go back to the desk to obtain new ones. The room was large, but shabby. There was peeling paint and a cracked window. Floor tile in the bathroom was chipped and loose in places. The list of advertised advertised amenities included robes, but none were provided. From our room on the first floor (Room #5) we could hear every conversation in the lobby, and there was considerable noise from passing traffic outside. The bed was comfortable, but the continental breakfast, consisting entirely of pre-packaged and not very appealing items, would have been disappointing at a Motel 6. We would not stay here again.

Room had bare (laminate) floors, not carpeted. "Breakfast" is at the Motel 6 level - microwave breakfast sandwiches, poor coffee, yogurt, juice, & fruit. Nice property, but not at the level of quality and amenities that match the price charged. Very quiet neighborhood and not too far from the area attractions and restaurants.

Easy access. Large rooms. Great breakfast selection. Personal touch. Good location. Easy parking.
