Property Notes

Following the earthquake on 17 December 2024, some of our leisure facilities were affected. Restoration works are currently underway, and we appreciate your understanding during this period. Temporarily Unavailable Facilities: -In-Room Dining Services -Verandah Restaurant (All Day Dining) To ensure a pleasant dining experience, our Lobby Bar has been transformed into a comfortable and welcoming dining venue. Guests can enjoy: Dining Options (subject to change): -Buffet Breakfast: 7:00 AM – 10:30 AM -À la Carte Menu (Lunch & Dinner): 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM As part of our ongoing recovery efforts, construction works are taking place on-site from Monday to Saturday, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Some noise may be experienced during these hours. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding. Please also note that in accordance with directives from the Vanuatu Department of Environment, swimming and fishing in the lagoon have not been permitted since 2022. Guests are, however, welcome to enjoy kayaking and catamaran activities within the lagoon. We truly appreciate your support as we work towards fully restoring our beautiful resort. Our team remains committed to ensuring you have a comfortable and memorable stay. Should you require any assistance, please feel free to contact us. Due to unavoidable delays in the shipment of essential construction materials, the anticipated reopening of the accommodation block currently under refurbishment has been deferred. Reconstruction works will continue from Monday to Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., through to August (final dates to be confirmed). During this time, some level of daytime noise may be experienced. While our leisure facilities remain available, please kindly note the following updates: ⚫ The All-Day Dining Restaurant is temporarily closed until further notice. ⚫ The Banyan Wing remains offline. ⚫ The resort will continue operating with 64 rooms until further notice. ⚫ The dive pool has been converted into an event space; therefore, only the Family Pool is currently available. ⚫ Please also be advised that the Overwater Villas are no longer available following their demolition in July 2025. Swimming and fishing in Erakor Lagoon remain restricted; however, guests may enjoy non-motorized water sports and swimming in our Family Pool. Thank you for your continued trust — and for helping us support our guests with care, clarity, and thoughtful service during this transition period.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation. This stay was a masterclass in incompetence and negligence, where the comfort of the rooms and reliable Wi-Fi were completely overshadowed by a disastrous service experience. What one expects from a global chain such as the Holiday Inn is professional reliability, but what I found instead was a constant breakdown in communication. The standard response of the staff to any simple question is a look of total bewilderment, as if it were the first time in human history such a thing had been asked. Even before my arrival, I received contradictory information regarding in-room dining availability, and once in Vanuatu, the disorganization at the restaurant continued: after being explicitly told by the receptionist that breakfast was included, I was turned away by staff the next day after already serving my plate, forcing me to walk out in pure frustration. The lack of common sense reached its peak with the "100-dollar incident." After I left a tip of 100 Vatu on a room service bill, a staff member actually called my room to "clarify" if the amount was meant to be 100 dollars. To expect a tip of that magnitude for a sandwich is completely delusional and left me baffled. This lack of professionalism extended to the tour I booked directly through the hotel. Beyond the logistical chaos of conflicting start times (hotel said 10am, guide said 9am) and the long wait on the first day for them to even locate my tour booking, I faced a genuine safety risk at Hideaway Island. While I was swimming to find the underwater post office, my guide was completely negligent, glued to his phone and ignoring my safety. I literally had to shout from the water to get his attention and remind him that his job is to watch clients to prevent drowning, yet he simply did not care. It was horrible!

Son emplacement au bord de la lagune, la gentillesse du personnel

Un espace dressing minimaliste, une salle de bain avec baignoire ridiculement petite (avant de changer de chambre avec douche), une chasse d’eau fonctionnant une fois sur deux ou trois (nuisance qui a été retenue et qui nous a permis de changer de chambre), les repas pris dans le lobby bar (durant les travaux suite au tremblement de terre de 2024) avec certains soirs une sono à fond, au point que l’on aurait pu croire manger sur une piste de danse d’une discothèque, une carte de restaurant manquant de choix (beaucoup trop de poulet !), l’impossibilité parfois de pouvoir dialoguer à l’accueil avec un membre du personnel parlant français (l’une des trois langues officielles), le bar de la piscine régulièrement fermé en soirée nous obligeant de supporter la musique du lobby bar, dont le volume interdisait toute discussion. À noter toutefois l’amabilité et la disponibilité du personnel.
