Silkari Lagoons Port Douglas

Great room, and pools were excellent. we booked for the self contained aspect. We were very happy with the facilities and cleanliness, and the staff were very accomodating. The location was a little further away from the centre of town than expected, but we had a hire car so it was not an issue. We would be happy to stay here again and to recommend.

I am a coffee drinker, and as the resort is a little further out of town, I was glad for the coffee making facilities, I did find it a little disconcerting that we were required to purchase coffee pods for the remainder of our stay, each day. But this was the only slight on an otherwise fantastic stay.

The lady at the front desk was extremely attentive from the moment we go there. After we checked out we realised we left my daughter’s toy sloth in the room so she was devastated. We drove back and lady at the front let us straight back to the room, where we found “Slothy” waiting for us!

A family of 3 of us stayed at Silkari lagoons resort for a week from 2/1/26 - 9/1, it was a wonderful place to stay, we had a 2 bedroom apartment, which was clean & had a lovely balcony overlooking one of the 4 pools,which were lovely! It was fully equipped with dishwasher; washer & dryer; stove top; microwave & all the equipment we needed, unfortunately no oven but there was a very clean & serviceable barbeque on site for the use of guests. The grounds were beautiful & though there was no restaurant, it was right next door to the Ramada resort, which had a lovely bistro which we could use, the food was lovely. The only drawback was the distance to some of the experiences in & around Port Douglas, but regular shuttle buses, though a little expensive, were regular & prompt,with very friendly drivers. The reception staff were very helpful. Would highly recommend.

I liked the location although we had a car, otherwise it's to far to walk into town, about 4 miles away. I liked the swim out from the room and the lying chairs are nice. The place was in the shade but otherwise it will be too hot so this was fine as it was warm anyway. I found the room and shower a bit on the older side and simple, plain. The fans and aircondition worked very well. The sink was very very small, not nice to wash up, it overflows very easy, the fridge didn't work well either as things froze when left under the little freezer place. It's dark early so you can't really sit outside as there are mosquitoes or midgets. You could do with some more towels as we stayed 6 nights and 1 big towel a person wasn't enough. The reception person was happy to give us another one on request. The people at reception were friendly and helpful if there was a problem. We were worried about the Airbus 320 while we were there and they were happy to keep an extra night for us on hold, if we couldn't fly back the next day. It wasn't needed after all but this was very nice and much appreciated.

The layout is really nice, especially for the pools. The location is nice too, it feels private and relaxing. I liked that they had all the things you needed to use the BBQs

The exterior areas were extremely dirty, with grime buildup and gecko droppings present throughout the spa bath ledge, balcony floors and walls. When we used the spa bath for the first time, a large clump of red hair came out of the jets. None of us have red hair. All pools had noticeable yellow and brown grime, with old plant matter and floating debris present, which made them unappealing to use. We booked both the spa room and swim out, both rooms were comparable in cleanliness standards. Both rooms lacked any extra bin liners despite us staying multiple nights. The reception lady also wasn’t very friendly. These are basic hygiene issues that should not occur at this price point or star rating. While the location and facilities could be lovely, a much higher standard of cleaning and maintenance is needed to justify the cost and advertised rating.
