Mercure Périgueux Centre Historique

Staff took good care of us and helped us store bikes in basement room. Good room, excellent breakfast, but coffee was from a machine.

The biggest issue was the air-conditioning - even though it let you set it at 20C or 19C, a few minutes later it would reset itself to 21C. This was still warm for my wife and I, after a day cycling in 35+C sun.

The staff were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. Hotel location and facilities were excellent, an easy walk to the old town and restaurants good room size and comfortable beds, super breakfast.

Slightly disappointing that the tea and coffee in the room had paper cups which were not great for hot drinks. No milk ( we are british!) but there is a room fridge which was great for cold water in the hot weather
