This B&B was very nice and Pam was an excellent hostess. Our breakfast was delicious and she was attentive. Our room was wonderful - we loved the electric fireplace, our own coffee bar and spacious bathroom. We wouldโ€™ve given it 5 stars but we experienced snow, sleet and rain the weekend we were there, making our porch, stairs, sidewalk and the parking lot slippery and hazardous. We wouldโ€™ve gone into the office to alert Pam but had to leave early. We would love to return!

We loved our stay at Montgomery Inn! Pam is such a gracious hostess and her sweet dog Sadie made us feel at home. I loved the comfy bed, the jacuzzi tub, and the massage chair! We enjoyed a glass of wine on her front porch in the evening watching and listening to millions of migrating birds in the trees! Breakfast was delicious in what seemed like a luxurious Victorian dining rail car. Pam was so sweet to sit and visit with us during breakfast. We highly recommend her Bed and Breakfast!

"Seen better days..."

The whole place looks old and tired & the website pictures have to be super old as nothing looks like the online pictures. Definitely needs a remodel/refresh and it appears that Pam needs help, other than just a cleaning crew. It needs pressuring washing, landscaping, tree trimming. I would give a 2.5 if that were an option. EXPERIENCE: The next morning, we go outside to walk to the main house/breakfast, and the dog, Sadie (a Golden Doodle I think), is barking in the parking lot. It was about 8:45 so I commented to my husband that I hoped no one was trying to sleep late (the doors are on the outside like a motel). So we go in to breakfast and sit in one of the booths. Sadie is right in the dining room pestering a single male guest. Then after we get seated, Sadie comes over to me and tries to get me to take her slobbery tennis ball and I donโ€™t so she drops it on my bench. There are a couple more couples and two older ladies. Pam is in the kitchen and she serves each couple/guest individually as they come in so it takes a little bit to get our food. I couldnโ€™t find any hot water to make tea so we just had to sit there until she came in; about 4-5 mintues. Sadie kept going from table to table begging for food. Now keep in mind that this dog is kind of tall and when she puts her paws on the table (yes she did), her head is at the same height as the guests. The single guy ate fast and left. The two older ladies were about to have a conniption. One young lady loved Sadie & took a selfie with her on her bench seat. When Pam came in to serve more food and then sat down to chat with everyone, the ladies tried to diplomatically point out that Sadie was jumping on the table trying to eat peopleโ€™s food and/or begging for food. She basically called Sadie โ€œRottenโ€ and joked that she had spent $3,500 on training school to no avail and that she herself had lost the Alpha Dog fight because she gave in to โ€œRottenโ€. Then something super weird happened: Sadie got in Pamโ€™s face (again she was seated but Sadie was at face height) growling. I could see from my bench seat and thought the dog was going to chew her face off! It scared me and I am not afraid of dogs, not even growling ones. But this was a snarling lunge, like something set her off. Then Pam made jokes, trying to fluff it off, and Sadie backed off. But not cool โ€“ what if she had bitten her? Or one of the guests? Again โ€“ I hate to write this, however it is important that folks know that this happens, particularly if you are not a dog nor animal lover. And even if you are, no one wants other peoples pets trying to beg food โ€“ not paying ones anyway. Then, of course, it makes you think about how much Sadie was in the kitchen while Pam cooked as the dog does have a crate but apparently not in it during dining time. Then the ladies left but then came right back and pointed out that Sadie was leaning on the kitchen counter eating everyoneโ€™s leftovers and Pam just shrugged, like โ€œwhat can I do?โ€ The Good Points: 1)Pam is nice 2) our Cottage room was very clean/large & the porch area was cute looking out over the meadow (if she cut the greenery off the fence so that you could see from sitting in the chairs) and had tons of towels 3)the AC blew really strongly & cold 4)the sheets were soft 5)the bed was comfy except the light metal frame squeaked when you moved 6)liked the pork tenderloin with potatoes (cooked in the crockpot) and bread. We paid $345 per night which is pretty pricey considering the area (not the greatest) and the not new/fresh state of the Inn. Honestly, worth about $199 per night. In no way is it worth $345. It must have fetched that price due to leaf season and the Louisville convention with thousands of attendees. If you donโ€™t mind older furnishings/style, and donโ€™t mind eating with a large moody dog, then this place would work. Otherwise, I think I would pass. (I ran out of space so I couldn't post the whole review).

We will definitely stay at the Montgomery Inn B&B again. If youโ€™re looking for a charming, idyllic, relaxing, small-town b&b, look no further. We found the owner, Pam, to be just as charming as her property. She went out of her way to ensure we were comfortable and all of our needs were met. Breakfast was always delicious and I looked forward to it every morning. Although we didnโ€™t need it, I overheard that sheโ€™ll go out of her way to accommodate dietary restrictions. I was a little worried when I met Sadie, Pamโ€™s 3-year-old golden doodle, because I wondered if there would be dog hair and a dog smell but there wasnโ€™t. Sadie is well trained, clean, and hypoallergenic if anyone is worried. We had a lot of fun with her. We stayed in the sleeper car room which was surprisingly quiet even though it was right next to the dining room. I canโ€™t wait to go back and stay in some of the other rooms!
