"Living in the rough"

4.0

If you love living "in the rough" this is the place for you. The dust and litter under the bed verified the experience of sneeze-inducing dust throughout the annex room. The kitchen disarray gave us pause though breakfast was promptly served against all odds.

Cute room, nice owner, I love the dog but could see not all people being ok with a large dog jumping on them and snicking their nose in their breakfast plates.

"Lots of Opportunity"

6.0

The Montgomery Inn is an interesting property. We loved the Innkeeper Pam who was warm, entertaining and knowledgeable. We loved the location and as best we could tell, it is the best place to stay in the region. We had breakfast and dinner there which were both very good. However, we were disappointed with the condition of the inn and the absence of some features. Regarding the condition, we stayed in the Victorian Suite. We found the carpet to be badly stained and furniture finishes to be well worn. Regarding features, there was no air conditioner control for our room and the room was HOT which led us to not sleep well. Also, there was no cable TV; only ROKU was offered. There were also no instructions regarding how to use the TV remotes; use was not intuitive. To enter the office and dining room, one walks through the kitchen. I was surprised at the layout and more importantly, how cluttered was the kitchen. I am sure it was clean as it would be cited if it wasn't but its appearance surely prompted a question in my mind. Be great if there was a decluttering effort! We were there with another couple who stayed in a room that was in better shape and did have air conditioning they controlled. What we experienced may be room specific. The cost per night seemed high given our experience -- at roughly $400 per night. We expected but did not have a Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons experience. The place has tremendous potential. Lots of opportunity to make it very special. I hope Pam provides the updates -- at least to the Victorian Suite.

"Property under construction"

4.0

We arrived to a parking lot filled with a couple of construction vehicles and had to play musical parking spots with the work vehicles. The property is very dark and the room we stayed in was also dark. The innkeeper is friendly and the coffee was spot on. The food is average at best. Plenty of room for improvement.

"Overnight!"

10.0

The inn keeper remembered us from 10 years ago! The Admiral suite was hugeโ€”full jacuzzi and an additional shower and full bathroom. Breakfast was a yummy waffle and sausage patty with Community coffee and OJ. Great stop on the road and parking was a breeze.

"5th time staying at the inn, wonderful as always"

10.0

I traveled alone and stayed 2 nights, in the Maple Suite. The bed was extremely comfortable and the sheets super soft. Pam was attentive and breakfasts were wonderful. The property was very clean, as always. I noticed a new roof and several updates since the last time we stayed. I especially was impressed by the massage chair in the front parlor and highly recommend.

"Disappointing stay in B&B with great potential"

4.0

This B &B had several good things: (1) the room was very clean, (2) the furniture was good quality and in great shape, (3) the English Suite, in which we stayed, was very large for a B & B, (4) the B & B was very quiet, and (5) the owner was willing to fix us breakfast a little earlier than planned. However, there were several bad things that will keep us from ever returning. Most importantly, the room smelled horrible -- very musty. My husband said it smelled like his grandparents' house. It was so bad that we had to leave the door standing open for a few hours, just to be able to stand it. (Luckily it was raining, so no bugs flew in.) In addition, the entire B & B needs maintenance. There were several small tiles missing from our bathroom floor, water dripped on my head when we walked in the main entrance, and there were small trees growing in the gutters. Whoever painted the bathroom in the English Suite was very sloppy; there was gray paint splattered on the white trim and on the bathtub. This B & B was not worth the price.

"Exceptional"

10.0

Owner is very nice and accomandating. My room originally was on the second floor but she noticed I was having knee issues and offered to move me to the first floor without any stairs. I really appreciated that kindness. Her breakfast was delicious. The room was big and the bed was terrific. Ample big and firm pillows which I like.
