Orchid Eilat

The Orchid is a really nice and secluded hotel, perfect for a quiet and relaxing hoiday

We came on a week day for a single night, after the holiday season in Israel, so the prices were already lower. We had a good deal for the simple room, but when the golf-cart driver dropped us off at the room, it turned out that we were upgraded -- as a courtesy -- to one of the best rooms they have. The view was breath-taking (as it is from all the rooms in this hotel), the village (it looks like a village built on the side of the mountain) was gorgeous, the staff was helpful and kind, and facilities were wonderful. This is by far the most beautiful hotel we've been in, located perfectly in the outskirts of the city but next to the most beautiful beach, the underwater observatory and near supermarkets and restaurants. We wish we could have stayed more!

Not a five star hotel

Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was well maintained. Except for the occassional cats meandering through the grounds, it was a very quiet and restful experience. Our cottage was about half way up the mountain and we needed a shuttle service that was not always very prompt in arriving. The dinners were overpriced and because the hotel is on the outskirts of the city, there are no other options within walking distance. We ordered pizza online from a pizza company, but it arrived cold because of the travel time. Also the delivery charge was excessive because it is out in the middle of nowhwere. If you are looking for a quiet get away, this place will be perfect. We spent quite a bit of time getting to shopping centers and local eateries. So we are not going back to this part of Eilat ever again.

Booked for last week of October to be outside of main city to relax in quiet place next to wild beach. 1. It is not quiet at all - situated on the side of the high hill hotel provides transportation by golf club cars of which they are half electric and half petrol. And having roads virtually next to your door you hear everything outside. 2. Beware, there is no privacy - hotel gives your room number, name and country you came from to sales agents. One stopped me one day and knew I made bookings form the UK and my name. - on second day we were back from the snorkelling the door was opened and very smelly inside. Few minutes after we found the worked using epoxy glue in the bathroom. Obviously it was leakage somewhere but I would not expect your room door wide opened in Israel. 3. Breakfast is nearly the same every day and on high load stuff just stopped making proper coffee. I would better to book Crowne Plaza again next time having better service and selection of food for cheap.

Awesome is the best way I can describe this experience. the staff was very friendly, they upgraded our room from deluxe to Villa for no extra charge because we're newlyweds. the only ding was they didn't clean our room the second day. but that's not too big of a deal.

Unique and appealing design of the hotel.

I learned we would only get to the hotel around midnight. Therefore i called to inform and make sure they save the reservation and ask if can check out an hour later. Took very long for them to answere. Said they could only tell me about late checkout when cheking in. When we check in they said only in the morning. In the morning when i called from the room they said they will get back to me. That was not too helpful. Its onlt an hour so we got up and checkout on time. Which is ok but not what you would expect not to menyion no is also an answere.

Overall, very nice stay. Really lovely staff (Ricky, on check in, was so welcoming and knowledgeable)....rooms lovely, very unusual, little "bungalows"....ours was quite high, so had a super view, lower ones may not have such a good outlook. There is a little mezzanine floor in the bungalows, with another bed. The ladder up is really steep, but my children would have absolutely loved it when they were little. The public areas were just lovely, pool, sunbathing terrace etc. Although a little outside Eilat, its just beside the large aquarium, and only a very short taxi or bus ride to the centre of town.
