Kilmurry Lodge Hotel

The hotel has a good location for accessing University of Limerick, has great facilities (gym, restaurant) and good proximity for groceries.

The breakfast has no many healthy options like fresh vegetables and greens.

I met a friend for lunch in the hotel today. The staff were lovely. Very helpful, and attentive without being intrusive. Coffee very nice, the food not so good. My friend had the lentil and something curry with rice and said it was beautiful and asked for a box to take some of it home because she couldn’t finish it. I ordered the house burger which had all the usual bits and pieces. Most of it was nice but the chips were over salted and the burger itself almost inedible. It was under seasoned and tasteless and so dry it was hard to swallow. Much over cooked with some of the outside burnt. We both ordered cheesecake for dessert. It purported to be Bailey’s and Malteser flavoured but it had had barely a passing acquaintance with the latter and the texture was extraordinary. Quite fascinating. I’m quite an experienced home cook and I have no idea how one would go about creating such a thing from real food ingredients. The texture was very light (suspicious in a cheesecake) , smooth ( fine for a cheesecake) , and slightly slimey ( not good in any dessert). I don’t think I’ll go back!

A Quaint hotel with modernized rooms and amenities. Friendly and helpful staff with easy access to food and pub options, live entertainment and a great patio. Easy travel into city center and day trips to Galway, Ring of Kerry and Cork.
