Undergoing refurbishment which it definitely needs but very expensive for the current offering. Very low grade food options for what is deemed to be a luxury hotel. Pool is not really suitable for small children with not changing area. But fabulous location

Absolutely fabulous stay. The lovely staff and the grandeur of the hotel made this an exceptional experience. We used the hotel as a base for a very quiet wedding at the local registry office. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very special and nothing was too much for the friendly staff who went above and beyond to make sure our every wish was catered for. The room was delightful, furnished in keeping with the hotel. It was very comfortable and we felt at home immediately. The hotel offered a lovely menu with plenty of options which would cater for most palettes. The service was exceptional , with special requests catered for to suit all. The grounds were beautiful and enchanting offering the very best of splendour surrounded by the tranquillity of nature. We had access to a heated pool and enjoyed leisurely swims to suit our timetable. I would highly recommend this hotel for those wishing for some peace and serenity in a picturesque setting. It offered a sense of escapism and made me feel like the protagonist in a wonderful romance novel. Definitely suitable for a special occasion, weddings , anniversaries ect. The hotel is child and dog friendly, which in our view added to the friendliness and character bringing the hotel to life. What more can I say except thank you to Ickworth Hotel for a beautiful and memorable stay.

Stunning hotel in parkland. Converted old country house with lots of character. Works ongoing for improvements. Food & drink excellent, very attentive staff. Great experience. Very dog & child friendly.

The situation was excellent, the staff were excellent but the property was very tired and in dire need of redecoration. The garden areas in the lodge where we were staying were largely overgown and uncared for which was a shame. The staff were excellent and very helpful. With investment, this could be a 4/5 star hotel given its location. Presently, it is 2/3 star at best.

After visiting Wooly Grange and being wowed by the property and service we had high hopes for the Ickworth. Unfortunately the property is not in nearly as good condition (e.g. crumbling window frames in the bedroom, leaking roof in the dining room/conservatory, cumbersome portable AC unit permanently connected up to a slat in the sash window, etc.). The staff, while all pleasant and well meaning, were not as on the ball as the WG staff. The kitchen also was a let down. Dinner was overpriced, meanly portioned, and average in quality. The National Trust property and grounds were excellent however.
