Kyriad Dunkerque Loon Plage

I have stayed in this hotel on a number of occasions (4th - or maybe even 5th?). I stay there because it's handy for the ferry and it's an ok hotel for a very reasonable price. If I am stopping then I tend to stay in the Kyriad because it's nicer than the cheaper places I have tried. As I said, ok hotel for reasonable price.

Ideal for a night stop over. Loved the bar area with pool table and seating, very cosy and nicely set out. Receptionist was very accommodating and professional. Rooms were dated, though clean enough, linen was clean, bed was comfortable, it was quiet and good shutters on windows. Location handy for our stop over for ferry, not pretty scenery though.

One night stop before the ferry home, and we should have realised when only half the ho___ sign was lit, the car park was in darkness and people were sitting in their cars, rather than their rooms. The check in was clean enough, and the receptionist pleasant with good English.... Better than our French, anyway. but the carpet got stickier and the corridor darker by the time we got to the room. Stank of smoke, yellow smoke stained paintwork and the heavy door to the ajoining room was leaned against the wall at a jaunty angle, completely off it's hinges. I complained to the receptionist, who then forgot all her English and said she would get her boss. Well after eating at the Poivre Rouge next door, which itself was lovely and thoroughly recommended, no boss had appeared and we retired to our hovel too tired to care. If you have a shower, please don't put the light on..... It gets worse.....

When we arrived the room key did not work and the reception could not fix it. They had to phone somebody to get permission to give us another room (!). The room was so small there was no space for 2 people to move round at the same time, one had to sit on the bed to allow the other to pass. There was no hot water at all in the bathroom! A poor quality hotel but convenient for the ferry.

Ok room, small but clean. Amazing shower. Convenient location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Decor is very dated and could do with renovation. Great for the price.

Friendly reception. A basic no frills ok for an overnight stay before after the ferry.

We have stayed in the Kyriad several times in the past and have always found it a friendly and clean hotel. In an easy to find location with in a short distance of the main highway. A reasonable continental breakfast in the morning and a good bar facility in the evening

Budget hotel, tired and dated. Needs a full overhaul.

Very dated and in need of renovation (bathrooms awful). Not up to the same standards as other Kyriads we have stayed at. The staff, however were very friendly and very helpful and the breakfast was ok.

Very dated hotel. The bar needs total refurbishment and the rooms need updating. It felt like a 1970's theme hotel also 6.50 for a Heineken is diagraceful!
